Superabrasive forming grinding wheels are widely used due to their high hardness and good wear resistance.However,the high hardness and composite-like characteristics make the dressing of superabrasive forming grinding wheels a major problem.For the dressing of superabrasive forming grinding wheels,the current common methods include traditional mechanical dressing methods,as well as electric spark dressing methods and laser dressing methods.But any single trimming method has certain drawbacks.The mechanical dressing method has the problems of low dressing efficiency and high dressing cost;EDM dressing is limited by the electrical conductivity of the grinding wheel and has special requirements for the grinding fluid.The laser dressing method of forming grinding wheel has the characteristics of high efficiency,low cost,no pollution,and wide applicability.However,due to the short development time,the current academic circle is mainly exploratory preliminary research,and many technical problems need to be solved.The reasons are: first,the precision needs to be further improved due to the limitation of the laser focusing characteristic itself without a clear "tool tip";second,how to realize automatic dressing;third,the lack of systematic evaluation of the effect of laser dressing grinding wheel.This paper mainly combines the self-developed composite dressing equipment for forming grinding wheels,and mainly carries out control system design and corresponding software development.The shortcomings of any single method are eliminated,while the dressing efficiency of the shaped grinding wheel is improved.In addition,a grinding test was carried out to evaluate the effect of composite dressing of the forming grinding wheel.First,through the analysis and comparison of the mainstream numerical control systems in the market,Siemens 840 Dsl numerical control system is selected as the main control system.The hardware control interface of Siemens SINUMERIK 840 Dsl numerical control system is analyzed,the hardware composition of the automatic control system of the forming grinding wheel compound dressing equipment is studied,and the system integration control scheme of each functional component of the automatic forming grinding wheel compound dressing is designed.Secondly,according to the requirement of compound dressing of forming grinding wheel,relevant functional software is developed.The fully automatic forming grinding wheel compound dressing function software is composed of three independent function modules,namely PLC control software module,offline CAM software framework module and human-computer interaction function interface module.In the PLC control software module,the integration of the software and hardware modules of the dressing system is explored,and the compound dressing process control is constructed;CAM software design is carried out based on AutoCAD;computer interaction software.It realizes the functions of grinding wheel compound dressing trajectory control and process adjustment.Finally,the comparison of compound dressing of forming grinding wheel,equipment operation experience and offline CAM application test are carried out.By importing the 3D model of the forming grinding wheel that has been drawn successfully into the offline CAM software,the forming trajectory is extracted,the compound dressing NC program is automatically generated,and the laser dressing,EDM dressing and Mechanical trimming,online detection and real-time adjustment of trimming trajectory during trimming process,so as to achieve final trimming requirements.And through grinding experiments,the dressing performance is verified.
