| Although the history of China’s gold and silver production and production,but the early development is relatively slow,the Tang Dynasty is China’s gold and silver development of the peak period,this stage of gold and silver rich variety,complex technology,laid the foundation for the development of China’s gold and silver ware.Behind the surge in the quantity of gold and silver ware in the Tang Dynasty was the flourishing of the mining and manufacturing industries.On the basis of the mineral resources of the previous generation,the rulers made full use of the power of the people to further expand the mining and smelting areas,and the scale of mining and smelting production in the Tang Dynasty gradually increased,and the production of mining and smelting increased year by year.With the opening of the Silk Road,western gold and silver wares were introduced to the Middle Kingdom.Under the influence of the open spirit of the early Tang dynasty,Tang craftsmen quickly absorbed the techniques and styles of making these wares and localised them.The excavation of women’s hair ornaments from the Tang dynasty serves as a microcosm of all gold and silver vessels,and the techniques used in their production are more comprehensive than those used in gold and silver vessels,making them an excellent object for the study of gold and silver manufacturing techniques during the Tang dynasty.Through a comprehensive analysis of the structure,decorative techniques and traces of gold and silver hair ornaments and vessels,it was found that the gold and silver manufacturing industry of the Tang Dynasty had certain temporal and spatial differences.In the early Tang dynasty,the power of gold and silver mining and manufacturing was in the hands of the ruling class.As a result of the war,court craftsmen were forced to move to the southern regions and set up private workshops in the Jiangnan area,with Yangzhou as the centre.During the mid-Tang period the differences between the northern and southern styles of Tang gold and silver grew and different schools were formed.In the late Tang period,exchanges between the north and the south intensified,and the geographical differences in gold and silver gradually narrowed. |
