Polyester and its blended fabrics are the most widely used textiles in daily life, and bacteria and other microorganisms can proliferate in a warm and humid environment. The proliferation of a large number of bacteria can produce odors(such as sweat and foot odor),causing physical or psychological discomfort, and even threatening human health. Therefore, the development of polyester fabrics with antibacterial and deodorizing functions has become an important research direction in the textile field.Chemical bonding with functional additives is an effective method to endow polyester fabrics with excellent antibacterial and deodorizing properties. The development of functional additives with specific structures and properties is an important prerequisite for preparing antibacterial and deodorizing polyester fabrics.β-cyclodextrin(β-CD)is a common natural raw material, and its unique cavity can adsorb molecules with special odors such as ammonia and hydrogen sulfide. Moreover, the cavity structure can include molecules(guests)with specific functions to form host-guest complexes, thereby achieving the integration of different substances.Therefore,β-CD is an ideal matrix material for preparing antibacterial and deodorizing additives.Based on the β-CD inclusion technology, developing functional additives and achieving their chemical bonding with polyester fabrics has become an effective way to develop antibacterial and deodorizing polyester fabrics. The β-CD/TP inclusion complex was prepared by co-precipitation method, using β-CD as the host and natural antimicrobial agent TP as the guest. The chemical, crystal, and morphological structures of the β-CD/TP inclusion complex were systematically studied using analytical techniques such as FTIR,WAXD,and SEM.The effects of inclusion time, inclusion ratio, and standing time on TP inclusion rate, yield, and loading rate were investigated by a single-factor experimental method. The results showed that the best coating effect was achieved when the inclusion ratio was 1:1,the inclusion time was 15 h,and the standing time was 24 h,with a yield of 76.2%,an inclusion rate of 29.2%,and a loading rate of 7.7%.Furthermore,the antimicrobial and deodorizing properties of the β-CD/TP inclusion complex were studied, and the results showed that at a mass of 0.15 g,it exhibited inhibitory rates of 77.44% and 85.84%against S.aureus and E-coli,respectively,and a deodorization rate of 91.24%.To further enhance the antimicrobial properties of the β-CD/TP inclusion complex,ECH was used as a linking agent to graft PHMG onto β-CD to obtain PHMG-β-CD.The effects of Na OH concentration,β-CD,ECH and PHMG molar ratio, and grafting temperature on the grafting rate were investigated by orthogonal experiments. The results showed that the optimal grafting rate was achieved when the Na OH concentration was 25 g/L,the grafting temperature was 70 ℃,and the β-CD and ECH,PHMG molar ratio was1:9 and 6:1.Subsequently,the PHMG-β-CD/TP inclusion complex was prepared by the inclusion reaction of PHMG-β-CD and TP,and its antimicrobial and deodorizing properties were studied. The results showed that at a PHMG-β-CD/TP inclusion complex content of 0.15 g,it exhibited inhibitory rates of99.99% against S.aureus and E-coli,and a deodorization rate of 91.63%.With the increase of PHMG-β-CD/TP mass, its antibacterial effect can reach 99.99%Finally,using succinic anhydride as a linking agent and sodium hypophosphite as a catalyst, the antibacterial and deodorizing polyester fabric was prepared by the grafting reaction of PHMG-β-CD/TP with polyester. Its antimicrobial and deodorizing properties and water resistance were studied. The results showed that at a PHMG-β-CD/TP inclusion complex to fabric weight ratio of 1:100(o.w.f 1%),it exhibited inhibitory rates of 98.19% and 99.63%against E-coli and S.aureus, respectively, and a deodorization rate of 96.81%.After 30 water washes, the inhibitory rates against E-coli and S.aureus were 82.43% and 86.96%,respectively,and the deodorization rate was 94.48%.As the proportion of PHMG-β-CD/TP on the fabric is larger, its antibacterial deodorization performance after washing is less affected, and when the mass of PHMG-β-CD/TP package is 5% of polyester fabric, the antibacterial deodorization rate is 99.99%.In addition, the mechanical properties, air permeability, moisture permeability, whiteness, hydrophilicity, and thermal stability of the antibacterial and deodorizing polyester fabric were systematically characterized, and the results showed that the hydrophilicity and moisture permeability of the polyester fabric significantly improved after PHMG-β-CD/TP grafting, while air permeability, thermal stability, and mechanical properties slightly decreased. Therefore, the functional fabric produced by the grafting reaction of PHMG-β-CD/TP complex with polyester has excellent antibacterial properties, water resistance, and wearability.
