The eccentric roll crusher is a highly efficient new type of crushing equipment.In comparison to traditional crushers such as the gyratory crusher and jaw crusher,the eccentric roll crusher features a significantly reduced height and fixed roll stroke,resulting in a significant improvement in energy utilization during crushing operations.This paper presents a study of the crushing mechanism of the eccentric roll crusher,including an analysis of the kinematics and dynamics of the material within the crushing chamber.Additionally,a productivity model of the eccentric roll crusher is established.The nature of the crushing force on the surface of the roll body is also studied,and a power consumption model of the eccentric roll crusher is developed.Furthermore,this paper summarizes the parametric design of the crushing chamber for the motion characteristics of the eccentric roll crusher.A test platform for the eccentric roller crusher is constructed,and the theoretical model is evaluated based on the performance of the eccentric roller crusher under various working conditions.To begin with,this paper provides a review of the development process of the eccentric roll crusher and presents the current state of research on crushing mechanisms and crusher performance,both domestically and internationally.Next,the roller surface motion law and compression crushing process are analyzed and obtained based on the working principle of the eccentric roll crusher.This is followed by the deduction of kinematic and kinetic equations of the material in the crushing cavity,which enables the prediction of the material trajectory.Finally,the material motion model of the eccentric roll crusher is analyzed and obtained.Based on the structure of the eccentric roller crusher,a longitudinal velocity distribution model was established for the material at the blockage level.Using a fullcycle motion distribution model for material at the same level,a theoretical output model was integrated for the eccentric roller crusher.Additionally,a power consumption model was developed that takes into account the trajectory of the material in the crushing chamber and the maximum crushing force under various working parameters.Using these models,the theoretical output and power consumption of a type eccentric roll crusher were calculated.The motion characteristics of the eccentric roller crusher led to the proposal of "size parameters" and "shape parameters" for its crushing cavity,and a parametric design process for the cavity was summarized.To investigate the performance parameters of the eccentric roller crusher under actual working conditions,a prototype test platform was constructed based on the eccentric roller crusher.The Lab VIEW software platform was employed to establish a data exchange system for the prototype,enabling control of the sample platform and collection of test data.Comparison between the results of the prototype and the theoretical model showed good agreement.This paper investigates the working principle of the eccentric crusher and establishes a theoretical model for the motion of the roller body surface.The kinematics and dynamics of the material in the crushing cavity are analyzed,and a motion model for the material in the eccentric roller crusher’s crushing cavity is established.The particle size of the eccentric roller crusher product is predicted using an overall equilibrium principle,and through intrinsic structure relationship tests,the relationship between material density and particle size distribution is obtained.These findings are integrated to establish an output model for the eccentric roller crusher.Additionally,a power consumption model is established based on the maximum crushing force model of the material in the crushing cavity and the trajectory of the material.By analyzing the characteristics of the crushing chamber,the design flow for the eccentric roller crusher’s crushing chamber is summarized and obtained.A prototype test platform for the eccentric roller crusher is built,and the validity of the theoretical model is verified using the test results.The research methodology presented in this paper can serve as a reference for further research on the mechanism of eccentric roll crushers.
