| In order to ensure the construction of ecological civilization and achieve sustainable development,China proposed the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060 in 2020.As a rapidly developing comprehensive service industry in recent years, the logistics industry has always accounted for a large proportion of China’s carbon emissions. In response to the country’s carbon neutrality goal,it is urgent to transform from a high-carbon emission development model to a low-carbon development model, and environmental regulation is an important means to achieve low-carbon logistics transformation.Currently, research on environmental regulation mainly starts from the perspective of a single environmental regulation tool, and considers less the interaction between different environmental regulation tools. At the same time, existing research has found that environmental regulation has a non-linear threshold effect on China’s carbon emission efficiency.Based on this, this paper starts from the perspective of threshold effect, and studies the impact of different environmental regulation tools on the carbon emission efficiency of China’s logistics industry. This paper uses the panel data of the logistics industry in 30 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in China from 2010 to 2019 for research.Firstly, the super-efficiency SBM model is used to calculate the carbon emission efficiency of China’s logistics industry over the past decade. Then, taking the carbon emission efficiency of the logistics industry as the dependent variable and environmental regulation as the independent variable and threshold variable,a panel threshold model is constructed for empirical analysis. The results show that there is no threshold effect of the three single environmental regulation tools on the carbon emission efficiency of the logistics industry, while there is a threshold effect of the interaction between tools on the carbon emission efficiency of the logistics industry.Specifically, based on the use of voluntary tools, command and control tools exhibit an inverted "U" shaped threshold effect on the carbon emission efficiency of the logistics industry at a significant level of 10%,while market incentive tools also exhibit an inverted "U" shaped threshold effect on the carbon emission efficiency of the logistics industry at a significant level of 5%,based on the use of voluntary tools. From the perspective of controlling variables, the level of economic development has a positive impact on the carbon emission efficiency of the logistics industry, while foreign trade indicators, urbanization level, and technological innovation have a negative impact on the carbon emission efficiency of the logistics industry. The research conclusion of this article provides suggestions for the government on how to use different environmental regulation tools to improve the carbon emission efficiency of the logistics industry, which has certain guiding significance. |
