Since the reform and opening up,China’s economy has developed rapidly. At present,China has become the second largest economy in the world, and people’s living standards have been significantly improved.China’s car ownership ranks first in the world. But the following is that China’s oil consumption is also rising.According to the data of the National Bureau of statistics,China’s imported oil accounted for 75% of the total oil production in 2019 [1].The proportion of imported oil shows an increasing trend.China’s oil dependence is so serious that in today’s international situation,if the western countries led by the United States impose economic sanctions on us and reduce the oil supply to our country, our country will fall into an energy crisis. In addition, our living environment is facing huge pollution.A large amount of carbon dioxide produced by gasoline combustion is discharged into the atmosphere, causing a series of environmental problems such as climate warming.Glaciers melt, sea levels rise, extreme weather increases abnormally, and the living environment of human beings, animals and plants is facing a major threat. It is urgent to develop new energy that can replace oil. Most of the oil is consumed by cars.In order to effectively deal with the energy crisis and environmental pollution,it is imperative to strengthen the development of new energy vehicles.Even so,there are still arguments in the professional field of new energy vehicles. Some experts believe that new energy models with electricity as the main energy can indeed alleviate the pressure of energy and pollution. They are based on the fact that electric vehicles do not need to consume gasoline during the use stage,so they will not produce heat and exhaust. The other camp’s view is that even if electric vehicles do not pollute the environment during use, their electric energy comes from power plants in the final analysis. The power generation mode in China is mainly thermal power generation.Thermal power generation uses coal as raw material, which is bound to emit pollution to the atmosphere. The problem of environmental pollution has not been solved at its root.Another basis is that in the scrapping stage of electric vehicles,if the waste batteries are not handled properly, the heavy metal ions in the batteries will pollute the soil and water sources, causing more serious pollution than fuel vehicles. In addition, most people in the industry believe that electric vehicles are better than fuel vehicles in noise control. On the contrary, the disadvantages of electric vehicles such as slow charging, difficult charging and short endurance are also recognized by people from all walks of life.In this article,I will introduce the concepts of traditional fuel vehicles and electric vehicles, summarize their environmental impacts into four aspects: energy consumption, pollution, use cost and use experience in the life cycle, and compare the advantages and disadvantages of fuel vehicles and electric vehicles in various aspects, and finally draw a conclusion:1.Electric vehicles have great advantages in energy consumption, mitigation of greenhouse effect and use cost.2.Electric vehicles have a weak advantage in noise, but it is not obvious.3.Fuel vehicles are better than electric vehicles in alleviating environmental acidification.4.Fuel vehicles have great advantages in convenience. This paper can provide a clear theoretical guidance for new energy vehicle enterprises, help them improve the shortcomings of products and maintain the advantages of products. At the same time, make the majority of car buyers fully understand the respective characteristics of new energy vehicles and traditional fuel vehicles,so as to provide a clear reference for their car purchase.Provide some useful suggestions for the improvement and development direction of new energy vehicles. It has very important theoretical and practical significance.
