Air is one of the most basic environmental factors for human survival. With the rapid development of economy and technology, the expansion of urban scale and the improvement of people’s living standards, the pollutants produced by some highenergy-consuming and high-polluting enterprises have brought many negative impacts to air quality. There is a close relationship between economic development and air quality. While economic and technological development is advancing, the urban scale is gradually expanding, the number of industrial and mining enterprises is increasing, and a large amount of wastewater and exhaust gas is discharged, resulting in air pollution. However, air pollution will also have an impact on economic development to a certain extent.Air pollution can cause haze and acid rain, which not only seriously harm human health, but also have a serious impact on the coordination of ecological environment and sustainable development.Chengdu has always been a sacred place for leisure and living, but in recent years, with the deepening of industrialization and urbanization, the increasingly serious haze weather has greatly reduced the comfort of living in Chengdu. The emission of pollutants has a significant impact on air quality, and the air quality in Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration is trending towards deterioration.Air pollution is a serious problem in this area. The problem of air pollution is becoming increasingly serious. On the one hand,it affects the stability of the ecological environment, and on the other hand,it also affects the safety of human survival environment.People attach great importance to the problem of air pollution, which has become a major global issue that urgently needs to be solved. The most prominent is the issue of air quality, which has received widespread attention.Solving the problem of air pollution is urgent. It not only requires an understanding of the temporal and spatial characteristics of air quality in the ChengduChongqing urban agglomeration and the factors that affect air quality, but also finding the factors that affect air quality.Analyzing how these factors affect air quality and identifying the main factors that affect air quality, targeted strategies and suggestions can be proposed. Therefore, the study of the temporal and spatial distribution and influencing factors of air quality in Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration is of great significance for analyzing air pollution problems in Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration and proposing reasonable and effective recommendations.Firstly, this article summarizes the domestic and foreign literature research on air quality, introduces the research area, research content, research method and research ideas.Secondly, based on the air quality data of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration from 2017 to 2021,this article conducts statistical analysis from the perspectives of temporal characteristics and spatial distribution. Then, this article establishes a spatial Durbin model based on panel data of factors affecting air quality, and conducts spatial econometric modeling analysis. Finally, based on the conclusions drawn from the research, targeted suggestions for improving air quality in the ChengduChongqing urban agglomeration are proposed. The research results show that: firstly, from 2017 to 2021,the air quality of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration showed a trend of improvement year by year. The seasonal variation trend of AQI is: autumn>summer>spring>winter. In December to January of the following year, air quality is slightly worse, while air quality is better in September to October.Secondly, the concentration of the six major pollutants shows obvious spatial heterogeneity, and the air quality gradually deteriorates from south to north and from east to west. The difference in air pollution between adjacent cities is small, and the overall air quality between cities shows a significant positive spatial correlation.Thirdly, sunshine hours, population density, civilian vehicle ownership, secondary industry value added, and urbanization rate have a positive impact on PM2.5concentration,and a negative impact on air quality.Relative humidity and green coverage have a negative impact on PM2.5 concentration and a positive impact on air quality. The two factors that have the greatest impact on air quality are urbanization rate and green coverage.Based on the research results, the following suggestions are proposed: first, improving air quality requires strengthening macro control. The government should monitor and urge high-polluting industries to reduce emissions in real time, while developing green transportation and encouraging residents to travel in an environmentally friendly way.Second, improving air quality requires the establishment of a joint prevention and control mechanism.Cities should take joint actions to control air pollution, form spatial cooperation, strengthen communication, and efficiently and effectively improve air quality.Third, improving air quality requires a balanced development of economy and environment.By improving urban planning, perfecting the transportation network, guiding the population flow in cities, increasing afforestation, developing new energy, and achieving a balance between economy and environment.
