The industrial development momentum of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration is strong,but the derived air environmental problems have become an endogenous resistance to its further development.Industrial co-agglomeration is an indepth requirement for industrial development.Studying the effect of industrial coagglomeration on air environmental efficiency is of great significance to improving the level of environmental governance.27 cities in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration from 2012 to 2020 in the new era were selected as research objects.Based on theoretical elaboration and literature research,the relationship between industrial co-agglomeration and air environmental efficiency was clarified.Then,the industrial co-agglomeration was measured by the relative method,and the static and dynamic air environment efficiency was calculated by three-stage DEA-Malmquist model.Finally,according to the calculation results of the panel threshold model and the spatial Durbin model,the impact of industrial co-agglomeration on the air environmental efficiency is analyzed.Based on the above studies,the following conclusions are drawn.First,the industrial development of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration was steadily improved,and the level of industrial co-agglomeration had fluctuated significantly.The improvement of industrial co-agglomeration urgently needed the collaborative development of manufacturing agglomeration and producer service industry agglomeration.Second,the air environmental efficiency of the current Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration could still be greatly improved,and pure technical efficiency was the main factor leading to low air environmental efficiency.During the study period,the total factor productivity of the air environment had gradually increased,of which technological progress played a major role in promoting.Third,the impact of industrial co-agglomeration on air environmental efficiency showed a "U"-shaped threshold effect in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration.In most cities,the improvement of industrial co-agglomeration was conducive to the improvement of technical efficiency and scale efficiency of air environment.However,the air environmental efficiency of Jiaxing,Suzhou and Wuxi had not been improved by industrial co-agglomeration.Finally,the air environmental efficiency between cities had obvious spatial correlations and dependencies.Industrial co-agglomeration failed to effectively improve the efficiency of air environment in the local and surrounding areas.Industrial co-agglomeration only has a positive impact on the pure efficiency of the air environment in surrounding cities.On this basis,some countermeasures and suggestions were put forward to promote the improvement of air environmental efficiency in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration.
