| Rapid urbanisation has resulted in a plethora of ecological and environmental issues, and the creation of urban ecological networks can help cities retain their ecological health, sustain biodiversity, and provide ecological services.Based on the theory of functional wetlands, this study proposes an ecological network for the type of urban structure in which wetlands dominate the ecological green heart, and proposes an ecological network of urban wetlands combined with an urban green heart for the planning of Putian City’s main urban area, with the goal of maximizing ecological effectiveness while protecting the environment and becoming a true urban heart. After conducting research and analysis for the urban wetland ecological pattern of wetland dominated ecological green heart, the main urban area of Putian City was used as the empirical object to extract and integrate the wetland elements using the runoff hydrological analysis method, the MSPA and minimum cumulative resistance value(MCR)method, and two different sets of wetland ecological models. The two sets of wetland biological networks were then compared from three angles: the structure of the created wetland network, the method of identifying wetland patches, and the principle of wetland corridor development. The constructed wetland ecological networks’ factors are compared, and the best solution between them is found, resulting in the optimal wetland ecological network structure. Finally, the optimized wetland ecological network is used as a planning guide to propose a strategy for the graded control of wetland patches as well as the graded protection and development of wetland corridors in Putian City’s main urban area, and finally couples the planning with the ecological network structure to achieve a harmonious unity between wetland ecological protectionand human living environment construction. In conclusion, this research investigates an ecological network construction method based on the functional wetland theory that integrates wetland ecological protection and habitat environment, using Putian City as an example. In terms of theoretical contributions, the paper identifies the limitations of the hydrological analysis method in constructing wetland ecological networks in plain river networks, and adds MSPA and minimum cumulative resistance value analysis methods to supplement and optimize network construction to build a more reasonable and efficient urban wetland ecological network, thereby promoting the expansion and deepening of the wetland ecological network research field. In terms of practical implications, the study offers a reference strategy for using functional wetlands to guide urban wetland ecological planning, with the goal of assisting other cities in the future in achieving greater social and ecological benefits through the integration of wetland ecology and human settlements. |
