According to statistics,more than 7,000 species are transferred with the ballast water discharged from ships every year,and the discharge of untreated ballast water poses a serious hazard to the marine environment.For this reason,the International Maritime Organization promulgated the Ballast Water Convention in 2004,which came into force for China on January 22,2019,requiring ships to install ballast water treatment devices within a certain period of time and meet the D-2 discharge standard.At present,ships entering the port must undergo rapid testing of ballast water microorganisms by maritime personnel on board and meet the conditions before they can be discharged.The ship is unable to monitor the microbial situation in ballast water,and the crew members,in order to reduce the workload,will have the phenomenon of untreated ballast water discharge,which aggravates the problem of ballast water pollution.By designing a ship ballast water discharge monitoring system,the ship can monitor the microbial index of ballast water after treatment,and the maritime department can monitor the ballast water discharged from the ship in real time,which provides important research significance and practical value for the integrated management of ballast water information in China.The main contents of this paper include the following parts:(1)By analyzing the ballast water-related conventions and requirements and the existing problems and shortcomings of ballast water discharge monitoring,the general objectives to be achieved by the ship ballast water discharge monitoring system are explained,and the design principles and overall design plan of the system are formulated.It includes the design of the ship-side monitoring system,the design of the shore-based monitoring platform,and the overall commissioning of the system.(2)According to the functional requirements of the ship-side monitoring system,the hardware was selected,and the Bei Dou satellite positioning communication protocol and the Bei Dou module data sending and receiving program were developed.The PLC control program was designed with STEP 7 micro/WIN software to realize the acquisition,processing,and sending of ballast water discharge data.Finally,the upper computer monitor screen in the ship-side monitoring system is designed based on Configuration King.(3)The B/S architecture was used to build the shore-based monitoring platform,and the database design principles were followed to develop the relevant data tables.The functional modules of the shore-based monitoring platform were developed with Intellij IDEA as the web development tool,combined with an Apache Tomcat server,a My SQL database,and the JSP scripting language.(4)On the ship ballast water treatment simulator,ship-side monitoring system debugging,shore-based monitoring platform debugging,and ship-shore online testing were conducted.The system screen and data recording are normal,and the monitoring data are highly accurate,which can achieve the design goal of the ship ballast water discharge monitoring system and meet the actual demand.(5)Application research of the ship ballast water discharge monitoring system was carried out,including ballast water treatment experiments and ballast water system fault diagnosis.In the ballast water treatment experiment,relevant data under different operating conditions can be measured and used for teaching and research.In order to accurately determine the location of ballast water system faults,a BP neural network is used for ballast water system fault diagnosis,and an adaptive particle swarm optimization algorithm is introduced on this basis,which greatly improves the accuracy of fault diagnosis.
