| With the booming development of the children’s toy industry, there is a problem of a large number of idle children’s toys in young children’s families. The high demand and low durability of children’s toys have led to countless idle toys, and the problems of environmental pollution and resource waste are increasing day by day. With the popularization and implementation of household waste classification and the "dual carbon" policy, creating a sustainable social atmosphere has become the main focus of current designers. This project takes sustainable design as the starting point, focusing on the problem of children’s idle toys piled up like mountains, and is committed to optimizing the recycling and reuse methods of children’s idle toys, and promoting the concept of sustainable development. In order to solve the problem of children’s toys being largely idle in early childhood families, this project explores ways to recycle and reuse children’s idle toys from the perspective of sustainable development. The implementation path is mainly constructed from three parts: basic theoretical research, relevant user model construction, and design practice application. We used literature research, user interviews, and case analysis methods to sort out the attitudes of domestic and foreign families towards children’s toys,as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the current situation of disposing of idle children’s toys. The research process always focuses on the relationship between users and products, and adopts a combination of online and offline methods to provide users with a higher quality recycling and reuse platform.Introducing the sustainable 3R concept as an innovative perspective into the recycling and reuse of idle children’s toys, transforming users’ consumption concept of toys as’ disposable ’.In terms of recycling and reuse methods, users should be given fun and a sense of social responsibility,in order to endow them with sufficient emotional value in the product experience process.Through the concept of sustainability, the use of children’s toys is returned to their essential needs, and a powerful communication platform is constructed to create a deep user experience and improve user engagement. This project uses the KANO model to "communicate" with users, analyzes and constructs the demand characteristics of target users, combines relevant information to judge users’ needs, and draws a scatter plot to comprehensively measure the degree of impact of product functions on consumers, thus adopting reasonable response strategies based on classification. The main process of recycling and reusing children’s idle toys was unblocked, and the functional and psychological needs of users for the product were disassembled. The priority of user needs was sorted out and inserted into each process of recycling and reusing children’s idle toys, further exploring the impact of sustainable design 3R concept on the recycling and reusing of children’s idle toys. Finally, plastic toys, paper puzzle toys, metal toys, and components were selected as recycled materials for case validation. From a sustainable perspective,we are committed to enabling users to reuse idle toys when participating in the Toy Return Program, solving the economic burden caused by the accumulation of idle toys and the large purchase of new toys.By designing and establishing a stable, positive, and enjoyable interaction between people and products,we aim to increase user engagement and optimize the recycling and reuse of idle children’s toys. |
