Chili originated in the Americas,and was quickly accepted by the public after it entered China for more than 400 years,which promoted the revolution of our country’s diet.In the less than 300 years of entering the Sichuan-Chongqing area,it has not only become an indispensable food on the table,but has also been integrated into the lives of people in the Sichuan-Chongqing area.It has become a unique cultural symbol in this area.It plays an important role in festivals,life rituals,interpersonal communication and other scenes.Through field investigation,literature analysis and other methods,this paper firstly sorts out the process of pepper planting and dissemination in China,especially in Sichuan-Chongqing region,and analyzes the reasons why people in Sichuan-Chongqing region accept and love pepper from the aspects of human history,geographical environment and so on.Secondly,analyze the important role of peppers in the formation of Sichuan cuisine.It is precisely because peppers entered the Sichuan-Chongqing region that the spicy and fragrant Sichuan cuisine we see today was formed,and the Sichuan-Chongqing food culture related to peppers was revealed.Thirdly,through the "micro-perspective" of pepper,we can see the influence of pepper culture on people’s lives in Sichuan and Chongqing in terms of festivals,life rituals,oral literature,etc.Finally,this paper discusses the practical value of Sichuan-Chongqing’s unique pepper culture on poverty alleviation and folk tourism in the mountainous areas of Sichuan and Chongqing,and puts forward reasonable suggestions,and then analyzes the shaping of pepper culture on the regional character of Sichuan-Chongqing people.Sichuan-Chongqing ethnic unity and other aspects play an important role.As a unique cultural symbol of Sichuan-Chongqing region,pepper’s transmission path in Sichuan-Chongqing region of China,as well as pepper’s dietary status and dietary preference in Sichuan-Chongqing region,analyzes the personality,local identity and cultural identity of pepper to local residents after it was introduced into Bashu region This paper discusses the influence of Sichuan-Chongqing unique pepper culture on poverty alleviation and folk tourism in Sichuan-Chongqing mountainous areas,and tries to put forward suggestions,and then analyzes the formation of pepper culture in the regional culture of Sichuan-Chongqing people.People’s regional cultural identity and ethnic unity in Sichuan and Chongqing play an important role.From the perspective of dietary anthropology,the cultural memory of pepper in the lives of people in Sichuan and Chongqing reflects the local memory and local identity of the people in Sichuan and Chongqing.certain theoretical value and practical significance.
