Bisphenol S is a widely used organic intermediate. It can be used as an intermediate to produce polymers, industrial additives, thermal display agents, engineering plastics, etc.because it is similar to bisphenol A in structure and physical and chemical properties,it is often used to replace bisphenol A,which is harmful to human secretory function. In this paper, bisphenol s was synthesized by phenol sulfonation method, and the synthesis process of phenol sulfonation method was investigated. The influencing factors such as feeding mode, reaction raw material ratio, reaction time and reaction temperature were investigated.By optimizing the reaction conditions,high-quality BPS products can be synthesized, and the raw materials can be recycled to save raw materials and reduce costs. At the same time, the atmospheric pressure was studied by isothermal saturation method,Equilibrium solubility of methanol,2-butanol,acetonitrile,2-butanone,cyclohexanone,formamide,N,N-dimethylformamide,ethyl formate, isopropyl acetate and dimethyl carbonate in ten pure organic solvents at 101.15 k.In all the studied solvents, the solubility of BPS increased with the increase of temperature. The experimental solubility data were obtained by Van Hoff equation, modified apelblatt equation and λ H equation. The maximum amplitude of root mean square deviation and relative mean deviation is 9.53 respectively ×10-3 and 5.18%.The average relative deviation of the modified Apelblat equation is the smallest of the three selected equations. The crude bisphenol s contains isomers, which greatly limits its application in many aspects. The traditional distillation methods and their isomers have high boiling points and similar physical properties,so they encounter great difficulties in separation and purification.According to the comparison of solubility data of bisphenol s in various solvents, and considering the production cost and separation effect,it is decided to adopt methanol water system for refining to further improve the purity of BPS products, which is non-toxic and environmentally friendly. At the same time, the effects of methanol water ratio, refining temperature and stirring speed on the refining effect were studied. The most appropriate refining process conditions were obtained, that is,the refining temperature was 50 ℃,the stirring rate was 300r/min,and the methanol water ratio was 3:7.The purity of bisphenol S was 99.2%,the separation yield was 94.8%,and the yield was 64.3%.
