Start with the difference and the aim of "double carbon",our country pay more and more attention to the development of green economy, green credit is the main form of green economy, commercial Banks is to provide a green credit the main institutions, however,at present,China’s green credit development is still at an early stage, the small size of green credit bank problems such as insufficient incentive for the development of green credit outstanding. Therefore, the study of the impact of green credit on commercial banks is of great significance to improve the scale of green credit in China’s commercial banks, promote the development of green economy in China, achieve the goal of "double carbon",promote economic transformation and achieve sustainable development. This thesis combs the relevant literature on green credit and operation efficiency of commercial banks at home and abroad, and makes theoretical analysis and empirical research based on the data of green credit and operation of 18 banks with the help of existing research results.Theoretically, from the perspective of credit structure,non-performing loan ratio and so on,it is found that green credit will reduce the credit risk of banks, improve social reputation and thus improve operating efficiency. Therefore, the basic hypothesis is proposed:green credit is conducive to improving the operating efficiency of commercial banks. To measure the operating efficiency of commercial banks, this thesis selects the data of 18 major banks from 2013 to 2020.Firstly,the efficiency of commercial banks is measured with the help of DEA-BCC model, and then by means of DEA-Malmquist model, the operating efficiency changes of commercial banks are evaluated from the annual and individual levels respectively. The analysis shows that the operating efficiency of commercial banks is constantly improving, and accordingly, the scale of green credit of commercial banks is also increasing,so the hypothesis is put forward again:green credit is conducive to improving the operating efficiency of commercial banks. Then, with the help of Tobit model, operating efficiency was taken as the explained variable, and green credit ratio was selected as the core explanatory variable.Three models were established according to different types of operating efficiency for empirical analysis. In order to ensure the authenticity and reliability of the results, robustness test was also passed. Finally, this thesis puts forward some suggestions from banks, governments and the public to improve the scale of green credit, develop green economy and improve the operation efficiency of commercial banks.Through the above research, the following conclusions can be drawn:First, green credit can reduce the credit risk of banks, improve the social reputation and thus improve the operation efficiency.Second, green credit plays a positive role in promoting the overall operational efficiency of commercial banks.Third, green credit mainly improves the operational efficiency of commercial banks in terms of technical efficiency, but has little effect on the improvement of scale efficiency. This thesis argues that only by constantly strengthening the awareness of green credit, establishing the risk control mechanism of green credit, innovating green credit products, establishing clear green credit standards, and establishing effective incentive mechanisms can the operation efficiency of commercial banks be continuously improved and the "double carbon goal"be achieved as soon as possible.
