Short-term heavy rainfall will cause accumulation of water on the runway surface. When the accumulated water can not be discharged through the runway cross slope in time, water film will be formed on the runway surface, which will cause changes in the runway surface’s antiskid performance and cause a significant impact on the safe landing and taxiing of the aircraft. At present, there are few researches on the distribution law of water film thickness on airport runway surface under rainfall conditions. At the same time, due to the lack of understanding of the law of water film thickness on runway surface under rainfall conditions,it is difficult for the field management department to conduct scientific and effective management of runways. In response to the above problems, based on the theory of fluid mechanics, numerical simulation and test methods, this paper analyzes the distribution law of the water film thickness of the airport runway surface and its influence on the runway surface anti-skid performance. And calculating the risk of water skiing when landing on 5 common aircraft types and putting forward a reference suggestion for rainy runway management. The specific research content and results are as follows:(1)Based on the Reynolds transport theorem and the N-S equations,a two-dimensional shallow water equations is derived.Combined with the influencing factors and characteristics of the airport runway surface runoff, and the two-dimensional shallow water equations is inserted into the source term to establish the two-dimensional the governing equations of airport road surface runoff.(2)With reference to the airport pavement design code and the airport pavement drainage design code, the solution parameters, boundary conditions and solution methods of the airport pavement runoff two-dimensional control equations are determined. The drainage length, rainfall intensity and road surface slope of impact on the thickness of the water film on the runway surface are analyzed by solving the equations.(3)Using ANSYS FLUENT software,a finite element model of runway surface runoff that can be used to simulate different road surface conditions and rainfall conditions is established, and the different influencing factors of airport runway surface runoff are analyzed and compared with the two-dimensional control equations of runway surface runoff.Comparing with the calculation results of commonly used empirical formulas,it proves the accuracy of the two-dimensional control equation of runway surface runoff in simulating road surface runoff, and the primary and secondary factors affecting water film thickness are determined by the range method.(4)Making model road panels, testing the water film thickness and anti-skid performance of the runway surface under different rainfall intensities to further verify the accuracy of the two-dimensional control equation of the airport runway surface runoff, and use the pendulum instrument test to determine the runway surface anti-skid performance. The performance changes with the thickness of the water film.(5)Analyzing the operation law of common models on the runway and calculating the probability of the risk of water skiing on the runway surface for 5 common models based on the water film thickness distribution of the runway surface obtained above;Basing on the ICAO consultation of the runway status assessment matrix in Announcement 335 determines the runway status codes under different runway slopes and rainfall intensity, which are used to guide runway surface management.
