A Study On The Chiseling Tools Of Traditional Small Carpentry

Traditional small carpentry includes the decoration and furniture of traditional building carpentry.In the history of chinese wood work,small carpentry furniture is the treasure of wood work culture and art,and its development and prosperity are closely related to traditional wood tools.However,the traditional wood tools are disappearing in the field of public vision.With the development of industrial mechanization,the traditional handicraft industry is facing an unprecedented speed of elimination,so it is of far-reaching significance to collect,organize,research and protect this part of historical and cultural heritage.This paper takes the traditional small carpentry chiseling tools as the research object combined with ancient literature records,archaeological data,field research,tool collection and other research methods,using interviews,case analysis and mathematical statistics research methods,analyzes and studies the evolution process,technology and application methods of traditional small carpentry chiseling tools.First of all,combined with the social background of each historical period,mainly including the development of economy,culture,materials and handicraft industry,the evolution of small carpentry chiseling tools can be divided into three main stages:the first is the embryonic stage of stone age,the second is the development stage of the South and North dynasties,and the third is the formation and stability stage of Sui,Tang,Ming and Qing Dynasties.This paper sums up the characteristics of wearing tools in different historical periods and the main factors that make them change.Secondly,through the overall research and analysis of chiseling tools and technology,the tools are divided into four categories:wood combination,chiseling,shoveling,repairing and auxiliary.The technology is divided into wood combination technology and carving technology,and their respective historical inheritance and technological process are described to pave the way for the use of tools.Thirdly,through the observation and measurement of the tools,the main parameters of each tool are determined,and the data of the main parameters and the relationship between them are analyzed scientifically,and the usage rules and methods are summarized,which provides the theoretical basis for the restoration of ancient furniture.Finally,the paper selects the classic Ming style ancient furniture,through image drawing and text analysis,combined with the tool characteristics,technological process and use methods and other conclusions obtained from the above research,from the two aspects of mortise and mortise combination and carving technology,carries out in-depth analysis and Research on the restoration cases of ancient furniture,in order to reproduce the specific use methods of traditional small carpentry chiseling tools.Therefore,the research of this topic is mainly from the following two directions:(1)Study on the evolution of the tools of small carpentry cutting and the relationship between them.(2)Study on the use of small carpentry tools in the technological process.Through the analysis and exploration,it clearly shows the evolution factors and course of traditional small carpentry chiseling tools;constructs the system of small carpentry cutting technology;studies the use methods of small carpentry chiseling tools in a scientific way,and provides a useful reference for the restoration and protection of traditional small carpentry cultural heritage in terms of Technology.
