In order to enhance the ability to withstand external risks and minimizing various human or financial losses caused by system failure, redundancy is often considered in the system design, such as the weighted voting system. With the progress of science and technology, the performance of the system is more and more rich, and the reliability modeling of the system is also affected by many factors, which lead to the emergence of multiple failure modes.Meanwhile, performance sharing mechanism exists in many complex systems to reallocate surplus performance of the component.Considering the influence of multiple failure modes, performance sharing, component dependence and other factors on the system, novel reliability models corresponding to the weighted-k-out-of-n system under different situations are established in this paper. The reliability evaluation methods of the system are provided, the calculation formulas of the related reliability indexes are derived, and the sensitivity analysis are carried out.Firstly, this paper studies a weighted-k-out-of-n : G system composed of heterogeneous dependent components, and establishes a new reliability model. The factors like the number of working components, the total weight of the system and the duration of the defective stage are considered while modeling for system reliability with multiple failure modes.Based on the new reliability model, the definition and derivation of relevant reliability indexes are given, and the Birnbaum importance of each type of components is obtained. The Copula function is used to describe the dependence between components, and the system reliability is compared between independent and dependent cases. The duration of the defective operation stage is taken into account in the sensitivity analysis of system reliability.Secondly, the performance sharing mode is introduced into the weighted-k-out-of-n : G system, and a new reliability model of the series system composed of weighted voting subsystems is constructed.Multiple failure modes are involved into consideration in both subsystems and systems. An innovative system reliability evaluation algorithm is proposed based on the Copula function and Lz transform method, which is combined with the universal generating function and stochastic process. The dynamic reliability of the system is determined by applying the Markov process to explain the performance of the components.A numerical example is given to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed method by comparing the system reliability in the case of component dependence and independence,as well as finite, infinite and no performance sharing.
