Abstract/Summary:
The Astronomical Clock Tower was successfully manufactured by Su Song,a scientist in the Northern Song Dynasty,in 1092.It is a large-scale astronomical timekeeping instrument that operates with water as the power and integrates astronomical observation,astronomical demonstration,and timekeeping.But then it was destroyed by war,and its restoration was not successful until modern times.The current exhibitions of the Astronomical Clock Tower are mainly traditional exhibitions,which can no longer meet the aesthetic needs of the audience,resulting in poor science popularization.This paper proposes the display method of the Astronomical Clock Tower combined with the 360 phantom imaging system,aiming to combine the new digital technology to enhance the sense of technology and reality of the exhibition,attract more audiences,and enhance the science popularization exhibition.This paper firstly summarizes the relevant knowledge of the Astronomical Clock Tower,including the designer,design background,social value,related literature,etc.,and then investigates the existing display methods of the Astronomical Clock Tower: entity-based and virtual-based.Existing exhibitions have their own characteristics,but there are very few that can clearly display the mechanical structure of the Astronomical Clock Tower,display the operating principle of the whole process,and take into account the exhibition experience.Therefore,this paper observes the physical model and demonstration animation many times in the National Time Service Center,deeply understands its mechanical structure,modeling proportions,and operating principles,and proposes a virtual display design plan for the Astronomical Clock Tower combined with 360 pseudo-holographic projection technology: first build a digital model,and then make a virtual image,and finally display it in the 360 phantom imaging system.Virtual images are divided into image cognition display and operation function display.The part of image cognition aims to show the audience the structural details of the Astronomical Clock Tower,including the timing and reporting system,the astronomical demonstration system and the astronomical observation system.The timing and reporting system includes power devices,control devices and timing and reporting devices.Combining linear motion into a body,broken animation,and motion effects from scratch to present the audience with all the mechanical structures of the Astronomical Clock Tower.The operation function display part shows the whole operation process for the audience in accordance with its operation process,using lens language combined with animation production techniques such as water flow animation.Combined with the 360 phantom imaging system,the virtual demonstration video of the Astronomical Clock Tower presents a three-dimensional virtual digital image to the audience.The virtual display of the Astronomical Clock Tower in this article completely and clearly shows its mechanical structure and operating state.It is authentic and technological,and provides the audience with an intuitive and comfortable viewing effect,making the display of cultural relics more culturally attractive and It has played a positive reference role in the protection and inheritance of the history of Chinese civilization and excellent scientific and technological culture.
