Suitability Evaluation And Development Countermeasures Of Forest Therapy Base In Luanchuan County Featuring Traditional Chinese Medicine Resources

With the proposal of the "Healthy China" national strategy,China’s forest therapy industry is developing rapidly.Forest therapy bases,as the support of forest therapy,provide people with a space to strengthen and cultivate their bodies.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),as a local characteristic therapy resource,can provide a new direction for the characteristic development of forest therapy bases.In this paper,we combed through the progress of forest therapy-related research and found that there is little research on forest therapy bases featuring TCM resources in China,and its suitability evaluation system is not perfect.Therefore,the forest therapy base in Luanchuan County,which is rich in TCM resources,was selected as the research object.Combining Arc GIS spatial analysis and AHP hierarchical analysis,the suitability of the forest therapy base in Luanchuan County for the development of forest therapy featuring TCM resources was evaluated,and the evaluation results were analyzed and countermeasures for the development of forest therapy base featuring TCM resources in Luanchuan County were proposed.This study enriches the existing evaluation system of the suitability of TCM forest therapy bases and provides implications for the development of forest therapy bases featuring TCM resources in Luanchuan County.The main findings of this paper are as follows:(1)This article combs through the construction and planting of forest therapy bases as well as TCM resources in Luanchuan County.Luanchuan County currently has 1 national forest therapy base,6 national forest therapy base pilot construction units,2 provincial forest towns,20 national forest villages,8 provincial forest villages and 5 forest therapy trails;3 health spas,1 TCM museum,6 Chinese herbal plantations and 1,402 types of Chinese herbs.Polyporus,Atractylodes,Danshen root,and Eucommia are the main herbs cultivated.Polyporus is distributed in Heyu Town,Miaozi Town and Taowan Town;Atractylodes is distributed in Tantou Town,Shizimiao Town and Qiupa Township;Danshen root is distributed in Tantu Town and Hetu Town;Eucommia is distributed in Sanchuan Town and Heyu Town.(2)This paper analyzes the spatial distribution characteristics of Luanchuan forest therapy base by using Arc GIS software.The results show that: Luanchuan forest therapy base is located in an altitude range from 400 m to 2158 m,which can support the cultivation of many kinds of Chinese herbs and can help improve the effect of forest therapy activities;the water system is widely distributed and has the water resource basis to support the development of forest therapy industry featuring TCM resources;the cost distance between forest therapy and TCM resource points in the base does not exceed 70 min,mainly between 36 min and 53 min,with good accessibility,which is suitable for carrying out forest therapy activities featuring TCM in the whole region.(3)This study constructed a suitability evaluation system for forest therapy base in Luanchuan County featuring TCM resources,which contains 3 guideline levels,7 primary indicators and 30 secondary indicators,and evaluated their suitability with a total score of86.136.The indicators with higher scores in each level are: therapy resources 49.682,quality of TCM forest therapy resources 26.685,supporting facilities 20.427,accommodation facilities 7.399,catering facilities 6.326,quality of therapy trails 6.235,richness of medicinal plants 5.325,value of medicinal food for health 4.703,comprehensive service facilities 4.110,construction of sports and therapy sites 3.847,business model 3.762,biodiversity 3.747,all of the above have greater development advantages;The indicators with lower scores in each level are: management 10.971,traffic conditions 6.883,management mechanism 4.089,research and science resources quality1.417,management institutions 1.395,forest area 1.316,training mechanism for practitioners 1.297,soil environment quality 1.046,climate suitability 0.904,landscape diversity 0.497,management mode 0.422.The above developments are relatively lacking and need further improvement.(4)The following development countermeasures are proposed for the development of forest therapy base featuring TCM resources in Luanchuan County: make full use of the advantages of the location of the forest therapy base in Luanchuan County and the advantages of herbal resources,plant more Chinese herbs such as Rhubarb,Coptidis Rhizoma,Gastrodiae Rhizoma,Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma and Angelica in the alpine Chinese herb plantations in the 1000 m to 1400 m,plant more Chinese herbs such as Rhizoma Bletillae,Cassiae Semen,Snakegourd Fruit,Angelicae Pubescentis Radix,Sophora Davidii and so on in the Chinese herbs plantations in the second alpine and low mountain below 1000 m,plant deep-rooted herbs Panax Indigowoad Root under the economic forest,plant Gastrodiae Rhizoma and Radix Codonopsis under the natural secondary forest;build a TCM forest therapy product system,providing different functions of TCM such as sickness prevention,disease treatment,rehabilitation service and science popularization for subhealthy people,disease patients,rehabilitation physiotherapy people and student groups respectively;open up the forest therapy routes of National Highway 311,Provincial Highway 243,National Highway 344,Provincial Highway 249 and Provincial Highway 248,improve the two-line therapy system of cycling and self-driving as well as service facilities such as stations;the overall spatial layout of the Luanchuan forest therapy industry of "one heart,two cores and five districts" is centered on the Luanchuan forest therapy industry,with the Longyubay and Chongdugou forest therapy resort complex double core linkage,supported by five districts: the eastern science education district,the southern TCM physical therapy district,the western sports therapy district,the central health care district and the northern experience therapy district;create a high-quality TCM forest therapy talent team,open integrated disciplines such as forest therapy in relevant colleges and universities in the province,improve the training mechanism and qualification system for practitioners in Henan Province,provide regular vocational and technical training for base personnel,encourage technical staff and retired experts in Forestry,TCM and Tourism Management to participate in professional experience counseling work in forest therapy.
