As the precision of experimental instruments improves, the discovery of new hadron states provides a challenge to test various theoretical models.Phenomenological analysis of the mass spectrum and decay behavior of hadrons plays an important role in the improvement of models.Explaining the structural properties and interaction processes of particles is of certain value for seeking some potential energy functions with their own characteristics and can be more widely used.In this paper, the theoretical method used to analyze the energy spectrum of heavy flavor mesons is explored.Firstly, the Rovibrational model is modified by the concept of diatomic molecules to calculate the heavy quarkonium energy spectrum, which proves an important way to comprehend to hadronic states. To explore the theoretial model,we combine the phenimennological characteristics of the quark model and the quantum chromodynamics. Then, the Morse potential function is further improved under the framework of the traditional quark model and based on the Cornell potential model and the modified Godfrey-Issugar model. The experimental data of c (?),b(?),B_c,D,D_s,B,B_s mesons are systematically considered to determine the parameters of the phenomenological model. It is mainly used to study the energy spectrum and decay behavior of the heavy flavor meson family.Comparing to the experimental values,it is found that the improved Morse potential has a screening effect. For the B_c meson missing from experimental values,we use the improved Morse potential model to predict the energy spectrum of the highly excited states and the allowed two-body strong decay width under the OZI rule to obtain results, which is consistent with other theoretical models. The radiative decay of the B_c meson is calculated numerically. The theoretical value is in good agreement with the experimental value. The quark confinement mechanism needs to be further improved to understand the properties of heavy mesons. In the future,we need to combine more experimental data to discuss the improvement of the theoretical model in detail, which will promote the development of hadron physics.
