With the development of electronics and information technology,modern electronic systems are growing with the trend of miniaturization,high speed,high capacity and high security,raising higher demand for the design of circuits and devices.As a consequence,it has been an important issue in microwave and millimeter technology to improve the comprehensive performance of microwave circuit,increase working frequency,and achieve higher integration and less area with more compact layout.Spoof surface plasmon polaritons(SSPP)structure is a kind of 2D metamaterial with periodical artificial structure on the metal surface,which can support SSPP mode in microwave and millimeter wave band.SSPP has similar dispersion properties and electromagnetic wave mode as surface plasmon polaritons(SPP)in visible light band,thus possessing great properties of field confinement and enhancement.Transmission lines(TLs)based on SSPP have advantages of low insertion loss,low crosstalk,high signal integrity and subwavelength wiring.Recently,a great number of circuit functions such as filters,splitters,amplifiers and antennas base on SSPP have been reported.It has been shown that SSPP technology has great potential on the design of microwave and millimeter wave circuit in the next generation communication system.Besides,multilayer circuit has been a mature approach for miniaturized and integrated circuit design because it can extend the planar circuit into 3D space,saving the area of circuit and simplifying the wiring design.In this thesis,the multilayer circuit design and the SSPP structure are combined.The electromagnetic properties and transmission performance of multilayer SSPP structure are researched,and the design and application methods of multilayer SSPP circuit are summarized,which may lay a foundation for miniaturized multilayer microwave circuit design with SSPP.The main content and innovative achievements include:1.The basic theory,implementation method and design principle of SSPP TL are presented.The properties and application scenarios of different kinds of SSPP TL are introduced,among which the SSPP TLs with multilayer structure are emphasized.The method of design,simulation and experiment test are introduced to draw the routes for the following design.2.The two-layer SSPP TL with via-structure is proposed.Impedance matching is proved to be the main factor for high cross-layer transmission performance.The transmission properties of the SSPP TL and the insertion loss brought by via holes and transmission structures are quantified by simulation and measurement.The two-layer SSPP TL provides the base for multilayer SSPP circuit design.3.Appling the design method of two-layer SSPP TL into the design of complex multilayer circuit.The transmission property of the SSPP TL in the situation of inter-layer corner,cross,overlapping and different substrates are analyzed.The design and realization methods for complex multilayer SSPP circuit are summarized.4.A new-type multilayer resonant sensor based on SSPP is proposed.The complementary split ring resonators(CSRR)are fed by the SSPP structure at the other side of the substrate with cross-layer coupling.The electromagnetic parameters of the sample under test can be measured in X band through the change of resonance of the CSRRs.The superiority of field confinement of SSPP on miniaturized device design is verified. |
