Abstract/Summary:
Diabetes is a common chronic disease.Research shows that 6.7 million people died from diabetes and its complications in 2021,resulting in at least 966 billion dollars in health expenditure. Therefore, diabetes prevention and daily care are crucial to ensuring human health and reducing economic burden.Blood glucose is an important biochemical marker for diabetes patients, and regularly blood glucose monitoring is an effective way for early diagnosis and diabetes management.Currently, fingertip blood is collected during most glucose meter detection, this invasive method not only has the problem of discontinuous data collection, but also has the risk of microbial infection, and long-term repeated use will bring psychological burden to patients.Glucose in sweat is highly correlated with blood glucose.Compared with other body fluids, sweat has the advantages of easy acquisition and simple composition. Therefore, perspiration glucose continuous detection is a promising means to achieve noninvasive glucose monitoring. In addition to glucose, sweat also contains physiological biochemical substances such as lactic acid, cortisol, sodium ions, potassium ions and calcium ions, which can also reflect some physiological information of the human body.In this thesis, our system not only detects glucose in sweat, but also lactic acid, sodium ions and potassium ions in sweat to provide more comprehensive biomedical information. In this study,a continuous sweat biochemical substances monitoring system is developed to realize continuous and real-time monitoring of glucose, lactic acid, sodium and potassium ions in sweat. The system consists of three parts: electrode, circuit hardware and software(APP).The electrochemical reaction of glucose, lactic acid, sodium ions, potassium ions at the electrode interface generates analog electrical signals. The hardware equipment provides the conditions for electrode reaction and collects the analog electrical signals generated by the reaction. Then the signal is converted to digital signals, which are finally transmitted to smart phones by means of low-power Bluetooth wireless communication. The software APP is responsible for the display of monitoring results and the storage of data.Using this system,we achieve continuous and real-time monitoring of glucose, lactic acid, sodium and potassium ions in sweat, which initially demonstrates the potential of its application in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes and other chronic diseases.
