Laser is a coherent source of radiation in the optical waveband.Together with semiconductors,computers,and atomic energy,it is called the four great inventions of the20 th century.The emergence of lasers has brought mankind into a new photonic era.Because of its good monochromaticity,strong coherence,strong directivity,high brightness and high energy density,laser has penetrated into many fields such as aerospace,laser lighting and display,scientific research and national defense construction,biomedical testing,and communication information.Since the advent of semiconductor lasers,due to its small size,long service life,simple structure,easy integration of optoelectronics,and high electro-optical conversion efficiency,it has almost occupied "half the sky" in the laser market.The white laser light source based on the synthesis of red,green and blue(RGB)three-primary color semiconductor lasers overcomes the problem of laser monochromaticity that limits the development and application of lasers.The laser technology has been successfully applied to the fields of laser illumination and display,and has shown great development potential.In addition,as people’s needs for exploring and understanding the ocean are increasing,underwater laser imaging technology has emerged as the times require.However,due to the limitations of the development of semiconductor lasers and the in-depth research on synthetic white lasers,there are currently few studies on the use of white laser sources for underwater detection.In this paper,an experimental system that combines the three primary colors laser beams and then couples them into the fiber to output the white laser light source is built,and the power ratio and color temperature of the white laser light source synthesized by the red,green and blue(RGB)three primary color semiconductor lasers are studied.Taking the standard white light D65 of 6500 K as the target light source,according to the principle of chromaticity,calculate the power ratio of the three primary colors of red(638nm),green(520nm),and blue(445nm)at the target color temperature.By adjusting the fiber coupling output power value of the three primary color lasers,a white laser with a power of 150 mw and a color temperature of 6268 K is obtained.The deviation of its color temperature from the color temperature of the standard white light D65 is about 3.6%.Based on this,continue to adjust the fiber-coupled output power of the blue laser,and finally output a white laser with a power of 220 mw and a color temperature of 6469 K.The color temperature of the white laser has a deviation of about 0.48% compared with the color temperature of the standard white light D65.The white laser obtained in the experiment was used as the underwater illumination source,and compared with the three monochromatic lasers of red,green and blue,the imaging effects of the four kinds of laser sources in underwater illumination were studied,which proved the superiority of the white laser source for underwater imaging.Aiming at the images of different underwater imaging distances collected by the white laser as the underwater light source,the collected images are processed and analyzed through three traditional image enhancement methods.The results show that the three image processing methods of median filtering,histogram equalization,and piecewise linear gray-scale transformation can improve the image contrast to a certain extent,but as the underwater imaging distance increases,the edge information of the image will gradually become blurred.Through the experimental research of semiconductor white laser,underwater white laser imaging and underwater image processing,it provides a reference for the future application of semiconductor white laser light source in underwater lighting,underwater target recognition and spectral analysis.It is believed that with the maturity of underwater imaging technology and semiconductor white laser light source,semiconductor white laser light source is likely to become a new generation of disruptive technology that will affect the development of underwater detection in the future.
