Revenue recognition is the most important and difficult financial problems faced by accounting practitioners.Early confirmation of income in the international securities market and direct or indirect inflated income are important means of financial fraud by listed companies.Therefore,the issue of revenue recognition is extremely concerned by accounting standard setting departments,market supervision departments and stakeholders.As the IASB and FASB jointly published the International Financial Reporting Standard IFRS 15,which originated from customer contracts In 2017,in accordance with the convergence between Chinese Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards and the need for internal change,the Ministry of Finance revised and issued the "Accounting Standards for Business Enterprises No.14-Revenue",which was implemented on January 1,2018.And domestic listed companies will start to implement on January 1,2020.Since 1994,China has been fully connected to the Internet for 27 years.The Internet has grown from scratch,from weak to strong,and has become the world's largest market.Since 1994,China has been fully connected to the Internet for 27 years.The Internet has grown from scratch,from weak to strong,and has become the world's largest market.Online game companies have sprung up with the development of the Internet industry,and quickly occupy an important position in the Internet industry.As the main source of profit for online game companies,virtual goods are virtual,diversified,complex and uncertain,which makes them encounter greater challenges in the practice of revenue recognition and measurement.After the full implementation of the new revenue standard,this paper selects online game companies as the research object and point of investigation,and uses Z Company as a research example to analyze the problems that the new revenue standard may face in the practical application of online game companies.Combined with the core principles of revenue recognition and measurement stipulated in the new revenue standards,this article makes suggestions to improve the revenue recognition and measurement of online game companies.It is about correctly determine the time point of revenue recognition of virtual goods based on the new revenue guidelines,reasonable methods for determining and apportioning the transaction price of virtual commodities,strengthening the training of practitioners,improving the system for the recognition and measurement of virtual goods revenue,to help online game companies improve the accuracy of the implementation of the guidelines,and enhance the authenticity,effectiveness,and comparability of the accounting information of online game companies.
