In 2020,Chinese game revenue was 278.687 billion yuan,a year-on-year growth rate of over 20%,and Chinese mobile game market revenue increased by 32%year-on-year.As an important part of the cultural industry,online game companies are developing rapidly.Emerging industries such as the online game industry have brought special business models and increasingly complex business models.The old revenue guidelines have very limited guidance to them.Among them,income-related Information is an important indicator for showing the results of business operations.The Ministry of Finance published the "Accounting Standards for Business Enterprises No.14-Revenue" in 2017.This article discusses the problems in the processing of online game companies' revenue during the transition of the new revenue standard.Discuss and analyze with Perfect World,analyzes the problems and makes certain suggestions.This article mainly adopts the literature research method and case analysis method,using income-related theories and new income standards as the theoretical basis.Statistics of the income sources,income recognition models of Chinese listed game companies,and income processing methods under different operating modes.The main problems in the revenue processing of the Chinese game industry are summarized: the timing of revenue recognition is ambiguous;the selection of revenue recognition models is not standardized;the processing of promotional activities is vague;the processing of precipitation revenue is ignored.Combining with the representative company in the industry—Perfect World,Analyze the difference in income treatment under the old and new income standards.The analysis is as follows:virtual goods income recognition processing;precipitation virtual currency income recognition processing;sales promotion income recognition processing;revenue Measurement processing.The following problems are found: the risk of earnings manipulation exists in the processing of virtual item income;the disclosure of precipitation income and promotional activities is not complete;the ratio of income to cost is low.In view of the common problems of online game companies and the problems of Perfect World,the relevant guidelines of the new revenue standards for online game companies are as follows: clarify the timing of revenue recognition;clarify the identification of the main responsible person or agent in multi-party transactions;regulate the promotion activities Income treatment;reasonable adjustment of sunk income.Finally,based on the perspective of the online game industry,relevant suggestions are made: choose the revenue model according to the characteristics of the enterprise;improve the disclosure of key matters related to revenue recognition;formulate specific online game industry guidelines;improve the scientific data tracking system.
