Investigation And Research On The Status Quo Of College Students Sticking To The Bottom-line Ethics In Hunan Province

As the cornerstone of the social moral system,the bottom-line ethics contains some basic moral codes that are closely related to people’s daily moral life,and these basic moral codes have important moral values and are also highly compatible with the bottom-line thinking.At present,domestic research on the bottom-line ethics is mostly focused on theoretical studies,and few scholars have adopted the survey and research method to research the bottom-line ethics.However,strengthening and improving the construction of the bottom-line ethics requires not only meticulous theoretical deduction and scientific and reasonable analysis,but also investigation and analysis of the current situation of it’s perception,recognition,adherence and transgression.College students are a reserve force for the future development of society,and their moral behavior has a certain guiding effect on other members of society,and their level of adherence to the bottom-line ethics can also become a measure,which can be used to measure the status of other social groups’ adherence to bottom-line ethics.In view of the above considerations,the research team took the college students in Hunan Province as the research subjects,and conducted a sample survey on some Hunan university students who come from 11 different levels of universities,and reached some basic conclusions.For example : In terms of cognition,college students in Hunan Province can well recognize the basic status of the bottom-line ethics in the construction of civic morality,but their awareness of the basic principles of the bottom-line ethics needs to be improved.In terms of identity,some students’ identity of the ideal moral requirements stay more at the conceptual level,instead of implementing them in specific actions;On the contrary,the vast majority of students not only agree with the bottom-line ethics conceptually,they also actively adhere to the bottom-line ethics in practical actions,and even the bottom-line ethics obtain more behavioral recognition than conceptual recognition.In addition,they tend to list some serious harmful behaviors and some behavior which are related to the public power and national interests and the bottom-line integrity as the bottom-line moralities.In terms of the status quo and causes of sticking to or transgression,the status quo of sticking to the bottom-line ethics is fine,and there are a few students who occasionally transgress the bottom-line moralities;deeper moral emotions are the "enhancer" for adhering to the bottom-line ethics,and the lack of will to resist temptation and eliminate difficulties will lead to transgress the bottom-line moralities.In view of the above actual situation and problems,we can im prove the current situation of college students’ awareness,recognitio n and adherence to bottom-line ethics from the following aspects: F irstly,our society needs to strengthen the confidence and strength of the bottom-line ethics construction.Secondly,colleges and universities should enhance the penetration and effectiveness of moral educatio n.Thirdly,family needs to optimize family environment and family m oral education.Fourthly,college students themselves need to pursue moral ideals on the basis of adherence to the bottom-line ethics.
