Abstract/Summary:
With the rapid development of human-computer interaction and virtual reality, the research on interaction methods has gradually expanded from visual and auditory to tactile. As an indispensable sensory channel for human beings, touch has unique advantages.Compared with other sensory channels, touch can not only realize the twoway information interaction that other sensory channels cannot achieve but also perceive information in a wide range and all directions. Therefore,it is significant to study tactile feedback devices and human tactile perception characteristics.Aiming at the problems of large size, high power consumption, and inconvenient wearing in current haptic feedback devices, this thesis designs and implements a distributed wearable haptic feedback device and conducts several tactile perception experiments on the basis of this hardware.Combined with the experimental results, the device uses vibration parameters with comfortable perception effect and high recognition rate. Then the software design of the device was completed, and the system was tested and verified. The specific work content of this thesis is as follows:This thesis first introduces the research on human tactile perception characteristics, analyzes and discusses the need for distributed wearable haptic feedback devices.According to the requirement analysis, this thesis completed the frame design of the software and hardware scheme of the device and completed the selection of the main components used in the haptic feedback device. After that, the primary control circuit and its peripheral circuits, driving module, wireless communication module, and voltage conversion module of the device are designed in hardware. Then, according to the distance threshold of the human body, this thesis designs the haptic array according to different nodes and completes the PCB design and wearable design of the system. In software design, the lower computer software mainly includes communication protocol design and microprocessor software design. The upper computer software is designed based on WPF and uses different modules to realize the graphical user interface of the device, which is used to receive user instructions and control the haptic array. Finally, the performance of the distributed wearable haptic feedback device is tested according to the design content, including power conversion test, communication delay test, packet loss rate test, device power consumption test, and control signal test. Then, this thesis designs a vibration parameter grading experiment using the distributed wearable haptic feedback device as the experimental platform.According to the experimental results, this thesis discusses the setting of vibration parameters, selects vibration parameters that are more in line with human tactile perception characteristics, and then conducts several tactile experiments. The experimental results show that the distributed wearable tactile feedback device designed in this thesis can accurately and effectively transmit tactile information to the user and adjust the device’s vibration parameters according to the user’s needs, laying a foundation for further tactile perception research.
