In the era of new media,people are using and connecting social media more and more,and social media has become an important part of people’s social circle.At the same time,to o much use and connection of social media also causes users’ anxiety,which leads to the imb alance of users’ motivation and behavior.In this paper,the Q-method is used to study people’s opinions,preferences and habits on the motivation and behavior of using social media,find and analyze the imbalance phenomenon,and try to put forward coping strategies.This study mainly uses Q-method to analyze the subjective view,attitude bias and beha vior habits of the subjects on the motivation and behavior of social media use.The specific s teps are as follows:1.Collect Q-population.In this study,through interviews,literature review,reading soc ial media use survey reports,browsing media portals from media perspectives and self-sum mary,the relevant Q statements have been simplified and modified as necessary.2.Develop Q-sample.By constructing the equilibrium zone matrix,representative state ments were selected from the Q-population,and the selected statements covered four types o f motivation and behavior as far as possible: "information acquisition","self-display","socia l support",and "entertainment function".Q samples were arranged in order after strong conn ection and weak connection were distinguished.3.Select P-set.In this study,all the P-sets are social media users.In order to ensure the balance and diversity of subjects,25 subjects were identified according to gender,age,occu pation and other factors.4.Conduct Q-sorting.Set of nine grades of normal distribution table.Subjects rank 34 Q statements in Q samples,and record the reasons for choosing extreme statements.5.Data analysis.Use Ken-Q Analysis online analysis program to analyze the data,inclu ding factor analysis,factor rotation and factor analysis.6.Descriptive analysis.According to the results of data analysis,the subjects are divide d into four categories: social activism,high-quality spiritual satisficer,cautious acquaintance s social users and instrumental users.Among them,the subjects of the latter three factors all have different degrees of imbalance between use motivation and use behavior.Through the analysis of distinguishing statements and contrasting statements,the concl usions of this study are as follows:The imbalance between social media use motivation and use behavior is mainly reflect ed in users’ anti-connection behaviors,which are as follows: rejecting strangers’ weak conne ction,self-discipline and restraining connection,and opposing connection as a whole;The m ain reasons are as follows: individuals are introverted,under great pressure to communicate with strangers without effective help,burnout and pressure caused by strong interaction,kee ping their own private offline social time and space and their own media literacy.Dividing s ocial relations in circles and actively reducing connections can effectively improve the imbal ance and balance the connection of social media.In this regard,this study holds that strengthening social mass media literacy,strengthen ing social media users’ privacy awareness and optimizing platform services can make users r ethink social media use motivation and examine their use behavior,which is of positive sign ificance regardless of whether users are connected or not and how connected they are. |
