In the context of big data and the information age,the amount of information and the information hierarchy's complexity has increased dramatically.For users,this will not only increase the difficulty of extracting decision information clues but also cause severe cognitive overload.For information visualization designers,they will also face the problem of how to balance the limited information display space and the contradiction between the soaring amount of information and the complexity of the information structure,and what kind of visualization technology to use to present information.This paper uses time-series information as the carrier to explore the impact of time series data visualization on the user's implementation of navigational decision-making tasks and proposes methods and theories to help data visualization designers present time-series data.Based on summarizing the previous research on time series data visualization technology,this article focuses on the impact of spatial distribution and spatial stacking visualization methods on time series data navigation decision-making tasks.Comprehensive use of theoretical research,experimental observation,prototype development,and example verification methods,focusing on the visual presentation of time series information on the construction of the user's mental map and cognitive loss.The main research work and results of this article are as follows:(1)By exploring the visual presentation methods of time series information,research the various presentation methods for time series information visualization at this stage,and analyze the application scenarios of different presentation methods and their performance in different types of visualization tasks.It mainly summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the two presentation methods of spatial stacking and spatial distribution and summarizes the content of the two presentation methods that can be further explored in the field of time series visualization.(2)Explore how the construction of smart maps in the time series information visualization center helps users achieve better performance in visualization tasks.Summarized the influence of saving the mind map on the visualization of time series data,and proposed the application method of applying the mind map to the visualization of time series data.(3)By setting peak and trend browsing tasks,collect the user's response time and accuracy rate for completing the time series data set browsing task,and finally consider the two factors of response time and accuracy rate,and draw the spatial stacking type in completing the trend The conclusion that the class task performs better,and the spatial distribution is better for finding the peak task.(4)This article focuses on the cognitive cost caused by the two visual presentation methods when users switch between time frames or views.Studies have shown that there are significant differences in the average fixation time between the two presentation methods,and when the time frame is switched,users who use spatial stacking within 3.5s will have a very stable visual saccade,while spatially distributed saccades within time The amplitude shows a downward trend.This conclusion proves that spatial stacking reduces user cognitive loss when performing navigational decision-making tasks,and it also shows that there are differences in cognitive loss between the two presentation methods.Besides,this article innovatively integrates the evaluation of eye movement indicators into the evaluation of two visual presentation methods.It explores spatial stacking and spatial distribution in the user-executed navigation mode through conventional eye movement indicators and two secondary processing eye movement indicators.Physiological eye movement changes during decision-making tasks.It focuses on the analysis of the cognitive loss caused by the user's time frame switching during the visualization process.Two types of tasks for visual presentation methods are proposed,and how to reduce the cognitive loss of users in the process of performing visual tasks.This provides new research ideas and directions for the application of eye-tracking technology in visualization and provides a design perspective for my country The data visualization human-computer interaction environment provides a theoretical basis for the presentation method that personnel chooses when presenting time series data.
