Powered by the quick development of network manufacturing technology, collaborative design has become an important form of engineering design. As important manufacturing data, engineering graphics are transmitted frequently among cooperative units. In addition, for military, construction, machinery, clothing, and other scenarios that require high accuracy of the host, reversibility is usually required. In order to facilitate the transmission of important information between collaborators and ensure the safety of engineering graphics in the transmission process, the research on low distortion reversible data hiding for two-dimensional CAD engineering graphics is extremely important.First of all,the research background and meaning of low distortion reversible data hiding for two-dimensional CAD engineering graphics is presented. After that, the current research status is introduced and the existing unresolved problems are pointed out.Subsequently, the relevant theoretical knowledge used in this paper is introduced. After that,in order to ensure the security of engineering graphics and secret information in the transmission process, two low distortion reversible data hiding algorithms are proposed. The primary research work is introduced as follows.1)A reversible watermarking based on difference expansion with adaptive interval partitioning is put forward for 2D engineering graphics. It adaptively divides the interval according to the embedding strength S and the distribution of watermark information, and the watermark is embedded via transforming the positions of the vertices to the corresponding sub-intervals.The watermark extraction is accomplished by acquiring the indices of the sub-intervals of the watermarked vertices, and the graphics recovery is achieved by moving the watermarked vertices to the reverse direction.Experimental results and analysis indicate that the average imperceptibility increased by at least 2.219% compared with the existing watermarking schemes under the same experimental conditions.2)A reversible data hiding scheme for 2D engineering graphics is put forward based on reversible dual-direction quantization index modulation(RDQIM).The quantization cell index of the host data is first computed, and the data hiding is performed by modifying the data to the closer embedding cell in both the left and the right directions. The data extraction is accomplished by calculating the index of the quantization cell where the stego data is in.Meanwhile, the lossless recovery of the stego data is realized by combining the index of the located sub-cell and the relative distance within the sub-cell.Experimental results and analysis indicate that the average imperceptibility of the proposed method increased by at least 2.219% compared with the pre-existing algorithms under the same experimental requirements.3)A low distortion reversible data hiding system for two-dimensional CAD engineering graphics is designed by using Auto CAD 2013,VS2015,and Teigha graphics development package. The proposed algorithms can be utilized for the content protection and hidden information transmission of two-dimensional CAD engineering graphics, which provides new means for data hiding of two-dimensional CAD engineering graphics and improves the imperceptibility of marked engineering graphics.
