Mode switching is a common task operation in the pen-based interactive interface.The user needs to switch from the current operating mode to other command control modes when switching modes.However,traditional mode switching is achieved by sacrificing part of the interface space to place command controls.This method requires the user to frequently go back and forth between the two operation areas with a pen to click and switch,which not only causes a waste of time,takes up interface space resources,but also easily causes problems such as user fatigue.In order to solve the above problems and improve the interaction efficiency,this dissertation uses the pen input channel as the tool medium for mode switching and designs a new mode switching technology to improve the overall mode switching performance.This dissertation first makes a systematic analysis of different pen channel value use strategies and proposes three types of pen channel use methods: actual value,discretization and incrementalization.By combining different pen channel value using methods with mode switching technology,the mode switching technologies under various pen channel value using methods including pen pressure,pen tilt and pen azimuth are designed and their performance is compared respectively to investigate the performance of mode switching technology under various using methods.The results showed that the actual value switching technology of pen pressure,the discrete switching technology of pen tilt and the incremental switching technology of pen pressure showed the best performance in different usage modes.On the basis of the above-mentioned research content,the proposed new mode switching technology and traditional click mode switching technology would be investigated and evaluated from the two aspects of quantitative and qualitative analysis,such as speed,accuracy,learning effect and subjective evaluation.The results showed that the overall performance of the pen pressure actual value switching technology was the best.The three types of new mode switching technologies proposed have improved the performance of mode switching in the pen interface to varying degrees.Finally,according to the research content of this dissertation,the new mode switching technology usage strategy and application scenarios are proposed,which provide a theoretical reference for the application of the mode switching technology for multi-channel pen interaction.
