Antenna based on waveguide always generates radiation by the aperture of the waveguide or the slot on the wall of the waveguide.This type of antenna owns the advantages of low energy loss,stable mechanical structure,compact size,high radiation aperture efficiency,large power capacity,easy to control array aperture distribution,and easy to get ultra-low sidelobe.Therefore,this type of antenna is widely be used in applications of radar,communications and other applications.Based on the different applications of waveguide array,the thesis discusses the waveguide slot arrays in the following aspects:1.Based on the actual engineering requirements,the circularly polarized low sidelobe planar slot array worked in standing wave model is studied,and the design principle and design process of the waveguide slot array based on standing wave model are discussed in detail firstly.Then according to the application back ground,a low sidelobe circularly polarized standing wave planar slot array antenna is designed.Taking the engineering processing experience into consideration,the layered and processing structure of the antenna is designed.Benefit from with simulation by software,parameter optimization,the gain of the array in the working frequency band is greater than 25 d Bi,and the sidelobe level is less than-23 d B.The final simulation results meet the design requirements.Finally,the process model and test results of the antenna are given,which verified the design process and method.2.The traveling wave slot array antenna is discussed,in addition,the main design principle and design process are presented.Taking the engineering requirements as an example,with the help of simulation software,a traveling wave dual-polarization low-sidelobe waveguide slot array works in the X-band is designed.The gain of both polarizations is greater than 34 d Bi in the working frequency band,and the sidelobe levels of both polarizations are all less than-30 d B.The simulation results of the array verify the reliability of the design principle and process of the traveling wave slot array antenna given in the thesis.3.A new type of low-sidelobe waveguide slot array taper method is discussed.This method is based on controlling the radiation intensity of the slot by loading a pilot unit on top of each slot unit to meet the radiation aperture distribution requirements.A 16 element low sidelobe no-resonant waveguide slot array based on leading element at Ku-band is designed.The simulation results show that the new method is work.The simulation results also prove that the method can effectively improve the total gain of the antenna.Finally,the processing model and test results of the antenna are given,and the test results meet the expected requirements,further demonstrating the reliability of this method.The design method and results shown in the thesis can be directly used in the design of phased array or other beam scanning antennas,which make it have certain reference value and application potential.
