With the rapid development of video compression coding technology,video is more and more widely used in daily life.In order to adapt to the changing network environment and different terminal requirements,the International Organization for Standardization has launched a scalable video coding technology standard.The scalable video encoder can adaptively adjust the size of the video stream according to changes in network bandwidth and different terminal requirements,so as to transmit videos of different quality for different network states.The compression efficiency of the latest Scalable High Efficiency Video Coding(SHVC)is nearly 50% higher than that of the previous generation of Scalable Advance Video Coding(SVC).But compared to SVC,SHVC increases the computational complexity by several times.Due to the recursive coding unit division and complicated prediction unit division,the complexity of SHVC coding is mainly concentrated in the process of intra-frame coding and inter-frame coding.Therefore,the fast intra-frame and inter-frame coding algorithms are proposed for the quality SHVC.First of all,a fast algorithm based on depth correlation and residual check is proposed for intra coding of SHVC.The proposed algorithm is optimized from three aspects: depth division,selection of inter-layer reference mode,and early termination of depth.(1)The space,time and inter-layer correlations are used to predict the range of depth with the degree of correlation,and depths with low probability are excluded;(2)The predicted depth is coded using the inter-layer prediction(ILP)mode,and the coded residual is subjected to a Jarque-Bera test to determine whether the ILP mode is the optimal mode,thereby skipping the intra-frame mode;(3)The predicted residuals are divided up-down and left-right,and hypothesis testing is used to determine whether the divided residuals have significant differences,so that the depth coding is terminated early.Then,a fast decision algorithm of prediction unit mode based on Laplace edge feature is proposed for the inter coding of SHVC.By studying the correlation between the edge feature information of the coding unit and the inter-frame prediction unit mode,the Laplace edge feature value of different prediction unit modes is compared with the preset critical value to predict the optimal mode.Finally,experimental results show that compared with the unmodified reference encoder SHM12.0,the proposed fast intra-frame coding algorithm and fast inter-frame coding algorithm can reduce the coding time of the enhancement layer by about 80%and 60%,respectively.At the same time,the coding efficiency loss of the proposed algorithm is almost small and has good rate-distortion performance.
