In recent years,various blockchains have emerged.Each blockchain runs as an independent platform without considering the interaction with other chains,which limits the interoperability.In this context,both industry and academia have conducted research on the blockchain interoperability,and started the attempt of interaction.Existing solutions mainly use trusted intermediaries to connect different blockchains to realize cross-chain communication,and focus on transaction processing and verification.Research has found that the cross-chain network will directly affect the performance and reliability interaction,which has become an important issue to be solved urgently.To improve the cross-chain transmission performance and reliability,a novel cross-chain overlay network model called is proposed,namely Hyper P2 P.Hyper P2 P first divides the nodes into two categories: gateway nodes and ordinary nodes.Gateway nodes are responsible for cross-chain communication and manage ordinary nodes in the lower layer.Hyper P2 P selects gateway based on trust value to ensure the reliability of cross-chain communication.To reduce the communication delay,Hyper P2 P uses Meanshift algorithm to cluster adjacent ordinary nodes,and uses spanning tree strategy to build intra-cluster network connections.Then,Hyper P2 P designs an improved Chord protocol to maintain the gateways inside blockchain,and constructs a mesh topology between gateways across different blockchains,thus improving the efficiency and stability of cross-chain routing.Based on the topology,Hyper P2 P further establishes node and resource identifiers to support fast and accurate forwarding of cross-chain messages.Now the development of cross-chain technology is still in infancy,so it is hard to verify the cross-chain network model.Therefore,a cross-chain network simulation tool is designed and implemented to verify the topology,routing and data protocol.The simulation results show that,compared with the existing scheme,Hyper P2 P can reduce the cross-chain transmission delay by 76.5% on average with fewer transmission hops.
