The hemispherical resonator gyroscope(HRG)is a coriolis force-based vibrating gyroscope with a simplified structure and no moving parts.It has attracted wide attention in the field of inertial technology because of its high precision,long life and high reliability.At present,it has been successfully applied in various fields such as deep space exploration,submarine navigation,and weapon cruise,and it can work continuously for several years.It is an important device that will lead the development of inertial technology in the future.The hemispherical shell resonator is the core component of HRG.Ideally,the hemispherical resonator can continue to work with high precision.However,due to various forms of damping in the actual environment,the energy of the resonator is dissipated.Therefore,the quality factor of the hemispherical shell resonator is limited and severely restricts the dynamics of the gyroscope.Performance and working life.In view of the above problems,this paper analyzes the vibration characteristics of the hemispherical shell resonator,and studies the influence of various energy losses on the quality factor of the hemispherical shell resonator.The main research contents of this article are summarized as follows:According to the thin shell theory,the deformation equations of the middle surface and the shell layer of the hemispherical shell are calculated,and the geometric equations of the entire hemispherical shell resonator are derived from this,and then the dynamic model of the hemispherical shell resonator is established.Then the finite element simulation software is used to simulate and analyze the vibration characteristics of the hemispherical shell resonator,and the influence of different resonator structure parameters and manufacturing errors on the natural frequencies of each mode is studied.Next,the vacuum test system of the hemispherical shell resonator used in the experiment is introduced,and the effective calculation method of the quality factor is given.Finally,the influence of various energy losses on the quality factor of the hemispherical shell resonator is analyzed.The surface morphology of the fused silica resonator can be improved by chemical etching,and the quality factor can be significantly improved;the quality factor can also be significantly improved by increasing the vacuum degree of the working environment of the hemispherical shell resonator;in addition,the different structural parameters have been studied.The effect of thermoelastic damping on the quality factor.
