In recent years, the number of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)presents a trend of rapid growth. It has higher demands in the mobility and performance of UAVs reconnaissance system due to the potential application in the military and civil fields.Compared with traditional imaging methods, the optical imaging detection system based on image-space scanning is superior in small window size, light moving load and high scanning speed. In this paper, the design and analysis of large field-of-view infrared imaging optical system, the design and motion characteristic analysis of the dual-wedge prism scanner and the simulation analysis of the design results are carried out based on image space scanning imaging principle. The development and current applications of IR imaging optical system based on image-space scanning technology are introduced. The paper explains the imagespace scanning technology, analyzes correlation between the optical system feature parameters and window size, and makes a comparative analysis on the typical structure and features of the image-space scanning system. The design and analysis of the wide-field IR imaging optical system based on dual-wedge prism are critical tasks. In order to reduce the difficulty of system design, the optical system is divided into three parts, the front wide-field telescope optical mirrors,dual-wedge prism and imaging optical mirrors.Accordingly for each part design optimization and result evaluation are performed respectively. After the components design is completed, the system is connected according to the requirements of optical pupil coupling, and then the scanner parameters are set with the multi-recombination function of the optical design software to analyze the imaging quality of different scanning field. The nonlinear rotation of dual-wedge prism is used to realize the scanning function in the system, which eliminates the image blur caused by the excessively long integration time of the detector. Finally, the imaging quality, narcissus and ghost image of the optical system are simulated and analyzed with the non-sequence analysis function of ZEMAX,which proves correctness and feasibility of the system design. It provides a new technology approach for image space scanning by the relative research.
