Frontier hot spots often have the characteristics of dynamic evolution.It is very important for scientific research topic selection and management planning to tease out their evolution.Citation network analysis,as a classic research method in bibliometrics,has been attracting much attention.By analyzing the characteristics of the topology structure of citation network,it can effectively reflect the diffusion and inheritance of hot knowledge.In order to reveal the knowledge evolution relationship in citation network,it is necessary to study the types of citation network.Literature survey shows that there are various classification criteria for citation networks.According to node types,citation networks can be divided into keyword co-occurrence network,institution or author collaboration network,etc.According to the hierarchy of citation,it can be divided into direct citation relationship and indirect citation relationship.For example,co-citation and citation coupling belong to indirect citation relationship,while the main path belongs to direct citation relationship.At present,the methods commonly used by researchers to analyze the evolution of frontier hot spots mainly include two categories: keyword-based analysis and citations based analysis.Keyword-based evolution analysis of frontier hot spots is susceptible to authors' subjective factors.Citation based methods include direct citation network,document co-citation,citation coupling and main path,among which co-citation is the most common,followed by main path,and direct citation network and citation coupling are the least used.Based on the research on the evolution analysis method of frontier hot spots,this paper finds that the landmark literature obtained by co-citation focuses more on the basic literature in the hot spot field,citation coupling focuses more on the frontier literature,and the main path is used to supplement the global path in the field.In order to better reveal the evolution context of frontier hot spots,Based on co-citation,Bibliographic coupling and Main path,an analytical framework of frontier hot spot evolution(referred to as "C-B-M")was proposed.This framework is considered from both horizontal and vertical perspectives.In the horizontal aspect,the co-citation and citation coupling clustering atlases are sliced by time series analysis method,and in the vertical structure,the cross-citation network is sliced by the main path of the whole time period.The specific framework includes four levels: the determination of frontier hot topics,the selection of data sets,the analysis and fusion of frontier hot landmark literatures based on co-citation,citation coupling and main path,and the visual atlas display of landmark literatures.In the first layer,the theme should be determined according to the needs,that is,according to the national development needs and stage key issues,and by referring to the international frontier hot fields.The second layer is the selection of data sets,including the construction of retrieval,data cleaning,data format conversion,local data set construction;The third layer is the analysis and fusion of frontier hot landmark literatures based on co-citation,citation coupling and main path,including the precipitation and aggregation of landmark literatures from three branches:co-citation,citation coupling and main path.The fourth layer is a visual atlas display of the landmark literature.Based on the evolution analysis framework of frontier hot spots from the perspective of citation network mentioned above,this paper starts from the frontier of frontier hot spots and the feasibility of the method,takes literatures in the field of "gene editing" as the empirical research object,and draws citation network maps based on three branches,namely,co-citation,citation coupling and main path.The intersection of the Top10 cited references with high citation frequency and the medium and small literatures with high intermediate frequency in the first two branching atlas was taken as the landmark literature.All nodes in the main path were taken as the landmark literature,and the result set D and result set E were obtained by statistical summary.In order to verify the effectiveness of the framework,the verification method based on coincidence degree and expert consultation method were adopted in this paper.In the former method,two test sets X1 and X2 were constructed,with 17 and 63 literatures respectively,and the accuracy rate was calculated to be 82.4% and the recall rate was 74.6%.In the latter method,well-known experts in the field of gene editing were consulted,and only part of the literatures were omitted.In the context of bibliometrics,this error is acceptable.The results show that the fundamental literatures were cited in research literature and has the outstanding performance,highly cited literature citation coupling can be lead to a certain extent of literature complement,drilling.it can precipitate a large number of literature,and the main path network to a certain extent,can avoid the former two branches in the process of the authors cited tiny branches and hysteresis loss defects,Therefore,the evolution analysis framework based on "C-B-M" has a certain credibility and can be used for the evolution analysis and research of frontier hot topics.
