The Electromagnetic Band-gap(EBG)structure has received extensive attention from many scholars due to its unique electromagnetic properties.Combining the EBG structure to design antennas has become a new round of research hotspots.Based on the previous EBG antenna design,this article focuses on the application of miniaturized and multi-band EBG structures in antenna design.A number of miniaturized and multi-band EBG structures are designed respectively,and they are applied in multi-band,ultra-wideband and multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)antennas.Among them,in the design of the dual-frequency antenna,a new nested EBG structure is innovatively proposed,which improves the tunability of the reflection phase curve of the EBG structure in the two working frequency bands.In the design of the ultra-wideband notch antenna,the SIR-type EBG structure was innovatively proposed.For the first time,through the loading of a single EBG structure,two independently adjustable notch bands were obtained in the working frequency band of the ultra-wideband antenna,The structural notch antenna design provides new ideas and methods.In the design of the ultra-wideband MIMO antenna,the proposed miniaturized,wide-band new EBG structure greatly improves the isolation of the MIMO antenna element.The specific work in this article is as follows:1 Low-profile dual-frequency antenna design based on EBG structureAiming at the problem that the traditional antenna design method will increase the antenna profile,by using the phase band gap characteristics of the EBG structure,a new EBG structure with the in-phase reflection area covering the wireless area network(WLAN)communication frequency band is designed.On the basis of maintaining the low profile of the antenna,the gain of the antenna in the two frequency bands reached 5.9d Bi and 7.69 d Bi respectively.2 Ultra-wideband notch antenna design based on EBG structureBased on the published ultra-wideband notch antenna,this article uses the resonant characteristics of the EBG structural unit to filter out the unwanted frequency bands by loading the EBG structure on one side of the ultra-wideband antenna feeder.The traditional EBG structure is improved,and miniaturized and multi-band EBG structures are designed respectively.At the same time,the proposed EBG structure is used to complete the ultra-wideband antenna design with single notch,double notch and triple notch functions.3 Ultra-wideband MIMO antenna design based on EBG structureThis paper presents a low-coupling planar compact four-element ultra-wideband antenna based on the EBG structure for MIMO systems.The MIMO antenna is composed of four ultra-wideband antenna elements and a periodic EBG structure.By loading the improved miniaturized EBG structure in the middle of the MIMO antenna,the isolation of the antenna in the full working bandwidth is greater than 15.5dB.
