As one of the key modules in the front end of the wireless transmitter,the features of a PA regarding the bandwidth,power gain,linearity,output power,and power added efficiency could significantly affect the overall performance of the system.With the rapid development and iteration of wireless communication systems,it has caused problems such as complicated spectrum resource occupation and increasing system energy consumption.Therefore,the research on broadband and high-efficiency communication systems are required.As the core device,a high-power,high-efficiency broadband PA is in high demand by the industry and market.This paper mainly focus on the design approach of broadband high-efficiency power amplifier and the broadband matching network based on artificial neural network.The following is a summary of the work and innovations of this paper:1.The optimal impedance of multi-octave high-efficiency power amplifiers varies with frequency,which makes the optimization of the broadband matching networks difficult to balance the entire band.This paper proposes an artificial neural network algorithm for broadband high-efficiency power amplifiers.Using the artificial neural network to learn the relationship between input and output data,and established the model of the broadband matching network.And the inverse optimization algorithm is combined to realize the purpose of designing the broadband matching network accurately and quickly.The performance of the power amplifier designed based on this method is superior to the existing broadband power amplifier in many indexes.2.Based on the harmonic tuning theory and the transistor equivalent circuit model,a novel topology of band-pass filter and modified low-pass matching filtering network is proposed.A better control of harmonics is realized in the entire bandwidth.The power amplifier employed this approach has a measured output power of more than 40 d Bm in the frequency range of 1.45-2.55 GHz,and the drain efficiency is between 70-84%.
