Study On The Philological Thoughts Of Huang Pengnian

In the late Qing Dynasty,western academic thoughts were introduced into China while resisting internal and external troubles,which affected the traditional thoughts of Chinese scholarship.The traditional Chinese learning,which had been all the rage during the reign of Emperor Qianjia,was greatly impacted.At this time,the academic circle which flagged "resounding",on the one hand inherited the old theory of scholars of Qianjia;on the other hand accepted the western thoughts,and presented a different academic characteristic from the past.Huang Pengnian was one of them.He experienced the four dynasties of Daoguang,Xianfeng,Tongzhi and Guangxu all his life.He was one of the promoters of the style of study that "the great cause of managing the world can be explained in the classics".Huang Pengnian has original opinions in many fields.After studying his works,it is found that he has made great achievements in collecting books,collating books and compiling local Chronicles,and has formed his own philology thoughts.This paper takes Huang Pengnian's own writings as the main materials,and uses the method of literature analysis and historical research.Firstly,the author sorts out Huang Pengnian's life experience from his family members,personal career and his friends with his contemporaries.Second the author elaborates academic trends in the Qing dynasty,and illustrates the environment of collecting book,compiling local Chronicles and collating book influence on the formation Huang Pengnian's thought of philology,which from the macro level to grasp its philology thought.,make the object of study is more close to the historical condition at that time.Finally,mining Huang Pengnian's own writings and combining with the existing research results,teasing out practical activities,including collecting book,collating book and compiling local Chronicles,summing up his thoughts of collecting book,concept of collating book and local Chronicles compilation,thus formed a more systematic thought of philology.Huang Pangnian's philology thought had a great influence on his philosophy of scholarship.Without prejudiced research characteristic,help Huang Pengnian develop a broad and insightful perspective,so it can keep the inclusive research spirit,with a principle for solve practical problems in society,has trained a number of practical talents.Especially during the period of Zhili province,Huang Pengnian to restore the “North learning” as the research goal,improved the study atmosphere in Lianchi,and promoted the formation of practical academic atmosphere in the whole Zhili region.
