As a new detection method, infrared polarization detection can provide more target information than traditional infrared detection. In this paper, based on the characteristics of heat transfer and polarization of the target, the calculation model of infrared polarization on the surface of complex target is established, taking into account the factors such as the shadow shading effect of the micro element surface of the material. This model is used to calculate the polarization distribution of the complex target surface under different incident conditions, and analyze the influence of various parameters in the model on the degree of polarization. On this basis, the influence of atmospheric scattering on the infrared polarization of the target surface is considered, and the infrared polarization distribution of the target surface under the atmospheric background is calculated and discussed. The results show that the target surface temperature affects the degree of polarization by influencing its own infrared radiation. When the temperature difference between the target and the environment is zero, the degree of polarization of the target surface is the smallest. The different values of the polarized bidirectional reflection function calculated by different incident and outgoing zenith angles lead to different degrees of polarization of different parts of the target surface, and the position with larger outgoing angle has a larger degree of polarization.Within a certain range, the target The polarization degree of the target surface increases with the increase of solar radiation heat flow, which indicates that the polarization detection effect of the target in the sunshine area is better than that in the shadow area.In the actual detection, the polarization degree of the target in the atmospheric background is less than that in the vacuum,so the atmospheric scattering will produce obvious depolarization effect on the target's infrared polarization. The results of this paper can provide a theoretical basis for polarization detection.
