Analysis On The Selection Of Integrated System Of University Library In The Digital Era

The current traditional library integration system lacks effective management of electronic resources and digital resources,and it is increasingly difficult to meet the ever-changing needs of university libraries.In order to solve this contradiction,the library industry has introduced a variety of solutions: one is to improve and upgrade the traditional integrated system,the other is to introduce a new generation of integrated system,and the third is to develop a next-generation library service platform.At present,most domestic academic libraries are still adopting traditional management systems centered on paper-based resource management.Some universities have introduced a new generation of integrated systems,and the next generation of library service platforms are in the R&D stage.For our country's academic libraries,how to choose a suitable new system is a major problem currently facing.Therefore,this article has done the work of selection analysis,hoping to provide certain theoretical guidance for the selection of university libraries.This research first uses the literature research method to sort out related concepts,reviews the development history of library integration systems,and introduces the development concept of the next-generation library service platform.Secondly,it briefly introduces the integrated systems at home and abroad,and compares and analyzes the mainstream traditional integrated systems and the new generation integrated systems on the market from many aspects,including system architecture,unified resource management,service mode,and openness.A comparative analysis of the new generation of integrated systems is made in terms of interfaces,knowledge bases and discovery systems.Then,using the method of network survey,the application status of the integrated system of university libraries in 42 world-class universities in China was investigated,and the characteristics and reasons of the integrated system introduced by domestic university libraries were analyzed from multiple angles.Through the comparative analysis of the integrated system and the analysis of the actual application situation of some domestic university libraries,we found the factors that need to be considered when selecting the type of domestic universities,and then put forward the principles that university libraries should follow when selecting the integrated system,namely The principle of technological advancement,the principle of functional applicability,the principle of system openness,and the principle of economic feasibility.At the same time,the following selection strategies are proposed: strengthen the top-level design and planning of system selection;clear positioning and selection based on school types;research the current market situation to avoid blind selection;choose commercial products or open source products based on the actual situation of the library;consider future development trends,Emphasize user participation.Finally,this article draws the following conclusions: University libraries should choose a system suitable for the library according to their actual needs;traditional library integration systems can meet the management needs of some universities through improvements and upgrades;priority should be given to the comprehensive and effective management of all library collections Resources,a system that can better provide services to library users;the next-generation library service platform is the direction of future university library system development.
