As a high-gain antenna,Fabry-Perot resonant cavity antenna has many advantages such as simple feed structure,low manufacturing cost,and easy realization of conformal.It has been widely used and valued in modern wireless communications.The Fabry-Perot resonant cavity antenna is mainly composed of three parts: a radiation feed,a metal ground,and a partially reflective layer(PRS).Among them,the partially reflective layer is usually composed of a frequency selective surface(FSS).The FSS has the characteristics of selective transmission or reflection of electromagnetic waves,and it is one of the ideal choices for partially reflective layers.However,due to the inherent narrow-band defect of the FSS structure and the resonant cavity itself,widening the working frequency band of this type of antenna has become an urgent problem to be solved.This paper was done an in-depth research on the broadband high-gain Fabry-Perot resonator cavity antenna.The single-layer and double-layer partial-reflective cavities are constructed based on three FSS units with positive gradient reflection phases,and finally the antenna impedance bandwidth and gain bandwidth are broadened.The main work can be summarized into the following two parts:(1)Design of broadband Fabry-Perot antenna based on single-layer PRSA unit with positive gradient reflection phase characteristics is designed.The upper and lower surfaces of the unit are respectively etched with metal square rings and circular patches.The partial reflection layer is composed of the units with 6 × 6 plane array to expand the antenna bandwidth.Experimental test results show that the impedance bandwidth of the antenna exceeds 33.6%(9.36-13.0 GHz).The antenna has a maximum gain of 13.4d Bi at a working frequency of 10 GHz,and a-3 d B gain bandwidth of 16.8%(9.1-10.78 GHz).(2)Design of broadband Fabry-Perot antenna based on double-layer PRSA two-layer PRS unit with closer to the ideal reflection phase slope and has positive gradient reflection phase characteristics is designed,and the upper and lower surfaces of the dielectric board are etched with metal square rings and cross-shaped patches,while the upper and lower surface of the lower dielectric board is respectively etched with metal square rings and circular patches,more,fill with FR4 media between the two media plates.The PRS of the Fabry-Perot resonant cavity antenna is constructed with the double-layer unit,and the gain and bandwidth of the antenna are further improved.The simulation results show that the impedance bandwidth of the antenna reaches 35.7%(9.53-13.1 GHz).The antenna has a peak gain of 15.7d Bi at a working frequency of 10 GHz,and a-3 d B gain bandwidth of 30.8%(9.08-12.16 GHz).
