With the widespread application of active integrated antennas in communication technology, the research on active integrated antennas goes deeper, but it is still difficult to meet the increasingly widespread application requirements.First of all, current active integrated antenna designs mostly focus on single-frequency design, which cannot meet the current market demand for multi-frequency and multi-function systems;Secondly, better way to balance the high integration and high performance of active integrated antennas in integrated design still needs to be explored; Finally, the existing simulation methods for active integrated antennas cannot simulate and analyze various parameter characteristics of active integrated antennas well and accurately enough, which is not conducive to rapid, efficient and accurate simulation and design of active integrated antennas for designers. To address the above-mentioned problems, this article mainly carried out the research on three aspects of high integration and high performance,multi-frequency design and simulation method of active integrated antenna, mainly including:1)Aiming at the problem of high integration and high performance in the existing design, this paper studies the principle of multi-frequency impedance transformation, and introduces a multi-frequency impedance converter between the passive antenna and the active module to achieve highly integrated multi-frequency design.2)During the simulation of the active integrated antenna, based on the equivalent conversion design of receiving/transmitting,the active transmitting antenna is used to equivalently characterize the far-field radiation characteristics of the active receiving antenna,so as to conduct the simulation of active receiving antenna's far-field radiation characteristics.3)In highly integrated design of active integrated antennas,it is difficult to perform simple and effective simulations on the parameter characteristics of active circuits, which may eventually lead to errors in the simulation results compared to expected ones.In this article,by introducing a virtual zero-impedance port, the active integrated antenna is transformed into a equivalent dual-port device. Finally, the port impedance characteristic of the passive antenna can be used in the parameter characteristic simulation of the active circuit, and more accurate calculation of the active circuit characteristic is realized.4)This paper proposes an improved design method for multi-frequency active integrated antennas.Based on the above two analytical models,a complete and accurate simulation analysis of the various parameter characteristics of active integrated antennas can be achieved under different constraints.5)Based on the above-mentioned multi-frequency impedance transformation technology and the improved multi-frequency active integrated antenna design method, this paper has complete the design of multi-frequency active integrated antenna which satisfies the two constraint criteria of gain equalization and G/T value equalization respectively.A prototype of the active integrated antenna with balanced G/T was fabricated and tested. The measured and simulated results are basically in consistence with each other, and it is verified that the improved design method of active integrated antenna can design active integrated antenna under different criteria, which is of positive significance to restrain design error, improve design efficiency and improve the performances of active integrated antenna.
