In the past, with progresses on related materials and processing techniques, pressure sensor devices have been intensively studied.Being able to measure spatial contact force distribution and access flexibility, pressure sensor devices are important for applications in intelligent robots, biomimetic prosthetics and human-machine interaction.Especially pressure sensor arrays can provide plenty of data characteristics and achieve high precise functions.Pressure sensor arrays can be classified to several kinds by their operating principle.Capacitive pressure sensor array is one of the commonest and simplest kinds. It keeps a low power consumption with simple structure, which is adaptive to future general use. However, capacitive pressure sensor array is more likely to be influenced by external factors.Noise and crosstalk effect are two mainly factors interfering in response.Former work focused on the sensor manufacturing techniques and system designs, however these methods are circumscribed, which may only apply to typical environments and increase cost.Data processing is a general economic way to improve the system performance, which is worth to study. The main research content of this paper will include following parts:1.A calibration method based an additional penalty function was proposed to improve traditional fitting function method. Corresponding experiment was given to validate the result.2.A data processing method for pressure sensor array was proposed based on image processing and applied to a pressure sensor array. The method could enhance the data characteristics in lightweight and noise existing environment.3.A real-time object recognition system was given by using the data processing method. The system could realize a high accuracy in the lightweight object case.
