The Ellen De Generes Show,a gold medal daytime talk show in the United States,has been an evergreen tree in the U.S.television industry since 2003,with fans all over the world.In recent years,the reputation of Ellen Show has been declining,In 2020,the host's public image crisis has been encountered,which eventually led to the suspension of "Allen Show" announced in May 2021.As the main creative core and value carrier of the talk show,the host's public image is also the program business card presented directly to the audience,which provides a strong guarantee for maintaining the stability and growth of the program's ratings and the brand value of the show.This paper takes Ellen Show and its host whom Ellen De Generes as the research object,conducts a close text reading of Ellen's program positioning,topic setting and hosting features,and takes Ellen De Generes' biography and related interviews as qualitative research materials to analyze Ellen's early family influence and Personal image building with the early stage of his acting career.Furthermore,the author elaborates the public image and public value orientation of the host of Ellen Show from the perspectives of humanism,new secular humanism and public opinion.Finally,this paper tries to analyze the reasons for the decline of the public reputation of Ellen Show and the damage of the host's public image since 2020,from the perspective of the stereotype of the host and the discrepancy of secular humanism,in the hope of drawing objective enlightenment for the research on the public image of the host of Ellen Show.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first part is the introduction,which mainly describes the research background,research status,research significance and research methods.The first chapter is an overview of the program positioning,program style,performance history of the host and multiple identities of the host.The second chapter analyzes the internal image,external image and public value orientation of the host from the perspective of humanism and the new secular humanism.The third chapter analyzes the collapse of the public image of Ellen De Generes in 2020 from the perspective of public opinion and the new secular humanism.The fourth chapter elaborates the enlightenment of the research on the public image of the host of Ellen Show.
