Research On The Self-expression Of Farmers' Discourse In Short Video Communication

Discourse is both a manifestation of power relations and a dominant construct of meaning.Discourse expression is a group's need to defend its own interests in society,and good expression can realize group values.However,farmers' expression has long been represented by traditional media such as paper and electronic media,and is therefore in a passive state.With the rapid development of new media,farmers are gradually given the right to self-expression,especially with the popularity of short videos,farmers' groups have started to express themselves more actively.The study first uses content analysis to trace 100 cases to understand the characteristics of farmers' groups who use short videos for discourse self-expression,then analyzes the textual content,farmers' discourse content and expression style of short video works,and then concludes that the driving forces that promote farmers' use of short videos come from the state,technology,others and farmers themselves,and finally uses in-depth interviews to analyze the self-expression of farmers' discourse Finally,we use in-depth interviews to analyze the significance and hidden worries of self-expression of farmers' discourse.According to Fairclough's interpretation of discourse theory,discourse needs to be analyzed at three levels: text,discursive practice,and social practice.Accordingly,the content and style of farmers' self-expression is the text of discourse,the subject of discourse,the way of expression,and the meaning of expression are the discourse practices,and the motives that promote farmers' expression and the hidden worries of current expression are the social practices.The study finds that farmers of different regions,genders and ages use short videos as a tool to express themselves and form discourses as knowledge,relationship,memory and life,and in practice they create the channel of "platform + user" and the model of "work + live broadcast".They complete their self-expression with vivid narrative language,fixed scenes and simple narrative structure.Through the self-expression of discourse,the peasant group has made great progress in realizing their interests,dissolving stereotypes and participating in mainstream cultural production.However,due to the exploitation of platform parties,the supervisory loopholes of gatekeepers and the circling of the Internet,there are many hidden worries about the emotional expression,content expression and subject expression of farmers' discourse,which need to be paid attention to in the communication practice of short videos.
