Study On Users' Usage Intention Of English Vocabulary Memorization Applications

With the advent of the 5G era,the rising popularity of mobile devices and the omnipresent coverage of network,educational informationization has continued to upgrade.In the field of education,many English learning applications have already sprung up.Due to the importance of vocabulary in language learning,English vocabulary memorization applications(EVMA)has been getting great attention from users.However,with the emergence of a new learning way,it takes some time for users to accept.It's important to know how to improve users' usage intention.This study mainly explored the key factors which influenced users' usage intention of EVMA and analyzed the relationships among these influencing factors.First of all,we sorted out the previous research on mobile learning,EVMA and the users' usage intention of EVMA.Then,based on the technology acceptance model(TAM),informal learning theory,social influence theory,flow theory,and foreign language learning motivation,we developed an extend TAM consisting of 8constructs including social influence,input cost,foreign language learning motivation,learning resources,flow experience,perceived ease of use,perceived usefulness,and usage intention,put forward 13 research hypotheses as well.Secondly,by referring to the scales of domestic and foreign and combining the characteristics of EVMA,the questionnaire containing 40 questions was designed.A total of 353 users participated in this research.Next,with the help of SPSS24.0 and AMOS24.0,descriptive analyses,reliability,validity,and structural equation modeling(SEM)analysis were conducted on 317 valid data.The results of the research showed that social influence,foreign language learning motivation,flow experience,perceived ease of use,perceived usefulness and input cost directly affect users' usage intention.The first five influence factors have positive effect on users' usage intention,and the last one has a significant negative effect on users' usage intention.The influencing factors that can indirectly affect users' usage intention are as follows: learning resources can indirectly affect users' usage intention through flow experience,perceived ease of use,and perceived usefulness.Foreign language learning motivation can also indirectly affects the usage intention through flow experience.At the same time,social influence can also indirectly affect users' usage intention through the perceived usefulness.According to this study,the influence factors that affect users' usage intention were obtained.The descending order of influencing factors on users' usage intention of EVMA is as follows: perceived ease of use,flow experience,perceived usefulness,foreign language learning motivation,learning resources,social influence,perceived usefulness,input cost.Finally,we offered some suggestions from five aspects:(1)Expand social impact by multichannel publicity and promotion;(2)Reduce the input cost in different ways;(3)Use various ways to stimulate and maintain users' foreign language learning motivation;(4)Improve the quantity and quality of learning resources;(5)Optimize the designs and feature functions.All of these suggestions mentioned above aimed to increase users' usage intention andpromote the further development of EVMA.
