In recent years, while the rapid economic growth of various countries, the imbalance between social and economic development has gradually become prominent, which has aroused great concern from domestic and foreign scholars. The UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals(SDG)include:achieving gender equality, ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education, providing lifelong learning opportunities for all,and reducing inequality within and between countries. These goals involve various aspects such as economic and non-economic fields, and inequality between different fields is intertwined and affects each other. This goal emphasizes the problem of balanced development of mankind and embodies the approach of overall consideration, that is,it is not just to emphasize the solution of inequality problems in a certain field. Therefore, the measurement of inequality problems should be extended from the traditional single dimension to multidimensional fields.Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the People's Republic of China,China's economic aggregate ranks second in the world and its first contribution to the world economy.Higher growth, more employment, and lower prices are unique in the world?.However, the report of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that the main contradictions in our society at present have been transformed into contradictions between the people's growing need for a better life and unbalanced and insufficient development.Among them, the imbalance between urban and rural development and insufficient agricultural and rural development are particularly prominent. The increase in income gap has an impact on China's education and medical care to a certain extent, and affects each other in multiple dimensions, which in turn leads to the complexity of inequality issues. Therefore,it is necessary to analyze the problem of multi-dimensional inequality in China as a whole and in urban and rural areas from a multi-dimensional perspective. In the past, most scholars used the three dimensions of income, education, and health to comprehensively measure the multidimensional inequality in countries or regions.Choosing different multidimensional inequality indexes can well explain the current status of multidimensional inequality, but existing research has not explored China in depth.Specific sources of multidimensional inequality. In China, the typical urban-rural dual structure system has increased the gap between urban and rural areas to a certain extent, and there are differences in multidimensional inequality between urban and rural areas and between urban and rural areas. In addition to this, age and gender have also affected the overall inequality of China and the urban and rural areas to a certain extent. The mutual influence between different dimensions also makes the multidimensional inequality in China different. In addition to this, age and gender have also affected the overall inequality of China and the urban and rural areas to a certain extent. The mutual influence between different dimensions also makes the multidimensional inequality in China different. Therefore, this paper selects the three dimensions of income, education and health, and uses the micro data in the CFPS database from 2010 to 2016 to comprehensively measure China's overall and urban-rural multi-dimensional inequality, and group them from the perspective of urban and rural, age and gender Decomposition research,on this basis, this paper further carries out dimensional decomposition,in order to comprehensively and deeply analyze the specific sources of multidimensional inequality in China. The main research contents and research ideas of this paper are:(1)Systematic research on multi-dimensional inequality methods, including the conditions, advantages and disadvantages and corresponding theoretical foundations of various multi-dimensional inequality indexes, provides a wealth of methodological knowledge for the practical application of methods;(2)Select Tsui index and Massoumi index to measure and dynamically analyze multidimensional inequality in China from multiple perspectives of China as a whole, urban and rural areas, age and gender;(3)Based on this, this paper conducted group decomposition and dimensional decomposition research. In this paper, the Tsui index is used to decompose the overall inequality of China and the urban and rural areas, and the Massoumi index is used to decompose the urban and rural and urban and rural areas. In addition, from the perspective of age and gender, this paper selects the Massoumi index to further study the multi-dimensional inequality in China between age and intra-age,inter-gender and intra-gender group decomposition, and select the Tsui index to multi-dimensional within different ages and different gender Dimensional decomposition research on inequality. The main conclusions obtained in this paper include the following aspects.First,my country's overall multidimensional inequality changes from 2010 to 2016 tended to rise slowly and declined in 2014;the multidimensional inequality in rural areas is higher than that in cities and towns. From the perspective of age and gender grouping, multidimensional inequality increases with age,and female multidimensional inequality is more serious;in the same age group, the multidimensional inequality of rural residents is greater than that of urban areas.Second, the results of the decomposition of urban and rural groups in China and the results of group decomposition of my country as a whole and urban and rural areas from the perspective of age and gender indicate that multidimensional inequality within the group is the key to studying multidimensional inequality.Third, the overall dimension is decomposed. In 2016,compared with 2010,the unequal contribution of the income dimension showed an increasing trend, while other dimensions declined relatively.Rural education inequality is more serious than in cities and towns, and other dimensions are the opposite. From the perspective of age and gender grouping, the inequality of young people accounts for a large proportion, and the proportion of health inequality among the elderly is gradually increasing;the contribution of rural inequality in education is decreasing;women's inequality in education and health It is more prominent than men,and rural women have a greater contribution to inequality in education than men.The main innovations of this paper are the following.First, this paper systematically sorts out the existing multi-dimensional inequality indexes, and discusses in detail the methodological mechanism of each index. On this basis, the advantages and disadvantages of the index are summarized and compared, which provides a richer methodological understanding for the practical application of the method.Second, from the perspective of group decomposition, this paper measures the contribution of inequality between urban and rural areas and between rural and urban areas in my country, and delves into the specific causes of multidimensional inequality between urban and rural areas in my country.Third,in the study of multidimensional inequality in China, this paper not only measures and analyzes the overall multidimensional inequality in China, but also measures and analyzes the multidimensional inequality between urban and rural areas and the multidimensional inequality of different ages and genders. It analyzes the age group(gender)of multi-dimensional inequality in China and the different age groups(gender).
