Abstract/Summary:
Large-scale gas-solid two-phase flow widely exists in industrial production, and the measurement of solid-phase flow velocity, concentration, flow stability distribution and other dynamic parameters is of great significance for the optimal control of the production process. At present, most of the existing studies are conducted on a small scale and the existing measurement technologies have their limitations due to the extreme complexity of particle flows and industrial environments Therefore, instantaneous cross-sectional measurement of large scale high-speed dilute phase gas-solid two-phase flow still faces many challenges.Based on the principle of electrostatic induction,an electrostatic sensor network measurement system is proposed in this study to investigate a typical particle flow at the exit of a swirl burner. The main research contents are as follows:(1)Optimal design and implementation of the electrostatic sensor unit. Two groups of electrostatic electrodes are perpendicularly arranged on the top and bottom layers of the sensor unit according to the characteristics of the swirling flow. The three electrodes in each group are used to measure the relative concentration and velocity of particles in the electrode’s local area by calculating the root-mean-square of the electrostatic signal, and cross-correlation velocimetry.(2)Structural design and assembly of the sensor network. The structure of the sensor network frame unit and the connector is optimized by balancing its measurement function and mechanical strength, and its influence on the flow. The fixed structural sensor frame is composed of multiple identical assembled cells and has a flexible configuration of sensor units to adapt the actual fluid characteristics and measurement requirements.(3)Building up of a swirling flow experimental rig and preliminary tests. An electrostatic sensor network measurement system is used to conduct preliminary tests on the specifically designed experimental rig.The local particle concentration measured by 12 electrostatic sensor units was used to obtain the cross-sectional concentration and velocity distributions of particles(by the interpolation algorithm)at the exit of a swirl burner.
